Mekhi Phifer and Jesse Garcia will guest-star in the Jan. 17 episode “Captive,” EW can reveal exclusively.
The official logline for the installment reads, “When Atwater goes missing, Intelligence rallies to figure out what happened and rescue him before it’s too late.”
Phifer (Frequency, 8 Mile) will be playing Joe Baker, a reformed gang banger who served time and is still battling the ghosts of his past, which makes him neither forgiving nor forgetting. He’s described as “stoic, revengeful, and tough,” but underneath all that, “he’s a grieving father still mourning the loss of his son.”
Garcia (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series) is Reimundo Morales, a street-smart hardcore coke dealer. “Seemingly untouchable and chillingly confident in his criminal endeavors,” he supposedly has “a penchant for causing his enemies pain” and is “no stranger to seeking revenge.”
