15th November 2017 - Stephen Chbosky to Write & Direct
Stephen Chbosky, whose drama Wonder opens this weekend, has signed on to tackle a Disney fairy tale.
The writer-director will write with an eye to direct Prince Charming, the studio’s re-imagined take on the fairy and folk tale trope.
Matt Fogel wrote the initial script for the project, which is a revisionist take on the character popularized in Disney’s own fairy tale movies such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella.
The story takes a look at the iconic prince from the point of view of his brother who never quite lived up to the family name.

6th July 2015 - Disney Buys Live-Action Prince Charming Project
Disney is continuing its push into live-action fairy tales, closing a deal for a feature project centering on Prince Charming.
Matt Fogel wrote the script, while David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Films/TV as well as Tripp Vinson are on board to produce.
Disney pioneered the recent and lucrative trend of taking either old animated classics or fairy tales and spinning them into live-action features.
Details are being kept behind a moat, but the script is described as a revisionist take on the fairy tales.
