You can ask @cadlymack about all her despair re: scenes that were left behind. She has plenty! As for me, my only regret was not showing in flashback why Klaus made Elijah believe he had thrown his entire family into the ocean (from #TVD). We mention it in the finale, though.
— Julie Plec (@julieplec) November 11, 2017
Thank you for watching all this time. I love Klaus too, and this season we get to see both sides of him. The angry, paranoid, despairing Klaus, and the Klaus who longs for (but doesn't believe he'll ever have) unconditional love.
— Julie Plec (@julieplec) November 11, 2017
We'll see Caroline several times over the season, and they actually have some really interesting convos about their past dynamic and attraction. Seeing it through the prism of Hope's crush on the 'bad boy.' Caroline talks about what drew her to him when she was a teenager.
— Julie Plec (@julieplec) November 12, 2017
I've just read the final Klaus-Caroline moment of the series, and I love it. It's a beautiful conversation about 2 women who have made an impact on his life. I'll let you guess who the other one is.

Dena Tyler is set for a recurring role in Season 3 of Hulu’s original drama series The Path, from Universal Cable Productions and Jason Katims’ True Jack Prods. Created by Jessica Goldberg, The Path examines a family at the center of a controversial movement struggling with relationships, marriage and power, with each episode taking an in-depth look at what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want. Tyler plays Claudia a devoted follower of Lilith (Sarita Choudhury), not the Meyerist Movement.
Vincent Ventresca (The Invisible Man)is set for a recurring role in Season 5B of Freeform’s family drama series The Fosters. Executive produced by Jennifer Lopez, The Fosters centers on a multi-ethnic family mix of adopted and biological teenage kids being raised by two moms. Ventresca will play Henry Mullen, Grace’s father, an absentee dad, who is determined to visit his daughter despite copious amounts of friction with his ex-wife.

It’s the (sorta) Men in Trees revival we always wanted but were afraid to ask for: James Tupper is reteaming with his sometime leading lady (and real-life wife) Anne Heche via an arc on her freshman NBC drama The Brave, TVLine has learned exclusively.
Tupper will play Alex Hoffman, a brilliant CIA field officer who in the past formed a partnership of opportunity with Heche’s Patricia as they rose through the ranks together. The two reconnect after years apart when Hoffman finds himself at the center of a crisis that threatens global security.
Thanks to Ivan for the heads up.

Robin Weigert is forging quite a second act as a faux TV shrink. The Deadwood vet, who played Nicole Kidman’s onscreen psychiatrist in HBO’s Big Little Lies, is joining AMC’s Dietland as a therapist, TVLine has learned exclusively.
Weigert will play the series-regular role of Verena Baptist, a body-positive counselor who notoriously exposed the secrets of her family’s weight-loss program as a pyramid scheme. Her peaceful feminist principles are thrown into doubt when an underground group of vigilantes begin taking matters into their own hands and shaking up the patriarchy.
TNT is developing a series inspired by the life of boxer and trainer Ann Wolfe, Variety has learned exclusively.
The potential series, currently titled “Beast Mode,” tells the story of a feisty, damaged woman with a “kill or be killed” mentality. While this quality makes her an excellent trainer, it tends to cause problems in the rest of her life.
Wolfe is an incredibly accomplished boxer, having compiled a professional record of 24-1 with 16 of those wins coming by way of knockout. She has also held championships in multiple boxing organizations in multiple weight classes. She is also a celebrated boxing trainer, whose students include former junior middleweight contender James Kirkland among many others. Wolfe made her acting debut in the megahit DC Entertainment film “Wonder Woman,” appearing as the Amazonian warrior Artemis.
Universal's cinematic Dark Universe is in danger of being mummified.
Just five months after Universal released a much-discussed cast photo promising a slew of movies starring the likes of Johnny Depp, Russell Crowe and Javier Bardem — all drawn on characters like the Invisible Man, Wolf Man and Frankenstein in its stable of classic horror films — none of the projects appears to have a pulse.
Writer-producers Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan, who were hired as the monster universe architects, have departed the franchise, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. Kurtzman, whose deal with Universal lapsed in September, is focusing on television (he's an executive producer on CBS All Access' Star Trek: Discovery, and his overall deal with CBS involves more than a half-dozen shows), while Morgan has returned to the Fast and Furious franchise and is writing a spinoff for Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.
Rowena King (Of Kings and Prophets) has been cast in a co-starring role opposite Joy Nash and Julianna Margulies in Dietland, AMC’s 10-episode straight-to-series darkly comedic drama based on Sarai Walker’s novel, which is set for a 2018 premiere.
Dietland, from Marti Noxon (UnReal), Skydance TV and AMC Studios, is set against the backdrop of the beauty industry. It follows Plum Kettle (Nash), an obese woman who is preparing for weight-loss surgery when her world is upturned by two rival feminist factions. Caught between old ideas and radical new extremes, Plum must decide for herself what it means to be a revolutionary as the “war of the sexes” becomes literal.
King will play Cheryl Crane-Murphy, a no-nonsense newscaster who tries to remain level-headed and strictly bipartisan in an ever confusing and macabre news cycle. She works alongside Margulies’ Kitty Montgomery, a wildly ambitious magazine editor.

With the second season of his DreamWorks/Netflix series Trollhunters getting underway on Dec. 15, the filmmaker is announcing plans to expand the universe to include two other animated shows: the alien saga 3 Below and the magic-mystery adventure Wizards.
Trollhunters is simply the first installment in the Tales of Arcadia trilogy, which will be followed by these two other shows in the years to come.
3 Below debuts next year and will focus on two royal teenage aliens and their bodyguard who escape their home planet during a coup by an evil dictator and end up crashing on Earth near Arcadia.
They’re being pursued by intergalactic bounty hunters, so while attempting to rebuild their ship and get home, the young aliens must disguise themselves and blend in as ordinary high school students.
Wizards (coming in 2019) unites all three mystical story lines, with magical heroes engaged in a battle that will determine the fate not just of our world, but also the troll kingdom and the alien world.
Former Game Of Silence star Bre Blair has joined CBS drama series S.W.A.T. in a key recurring role. Blair will play Annie Kay, the wife of Deacon (Jay Harrington), 2nd command of the SWAT unit lead by Hondo (Shemar Moore). She is patient, perceptive, and balances a busy house and newborn baby while her husband is out in the field. As the only wife on the squad, Annie is considered one of the family to the rest of the team, though she is fiercely loyal and devoted to Deacon and the kids above all else.

British actor, writer and director Ariyon Bakare has booked a recurring role on Carnival Row, Amazon’s eight-episode straight-to-series fantasy drama, from Rene Echevarria, Travis Beacham, Paul McGuigan and Legendary Television. Carnival Row is described as a fantasy-noir set in a neo-Victorian city. Mythical creatures fleeing their war-torn homeland have gathered in the city, and tensions are simmering between citizens and the growing immigrant population. The series follows the investigation into a string of unsolved murders that are eating away at whatever uneasy peace still exists. Bakare will play Darius, Inspector Philostrate’s (Orlando Bloom) sole confidant, a fellow war veteran, now locked away in a secret prison under the city for some dark reason buried in their shared past. Bakare also is set for a key role in Amazon’s six-part series Good Omens.
Thanks to TVBuff65 for the heads up.
Longtime Law & Order star Richard Brooks will appear in multiple episodes of The Flash this season as Iron Heights Prison Warden Gregory Wolfe, ComicBook.com has confirmed.
The character first appeared briefly at the end of the season's second episode, standing by while Barry talked to the imprisoned Kilg%re. Brooks is set to reprise his role for multiple episodes later this season. I don’t believe anyone has reported on this, and we haven’t acknowledged that he’ll be showing up again in multiple episodes.
Anna Jacoby-Heron (Relationship Status) has been cast opposite Sean Penn and Natascha McElhone in The First, Beau Willimon’s straight-to-series drama slated to premiere on Hulu and U.K.’s Channel 4 in 2018.
Written by Willimon, The First follows the first human mission to Mars, exploring the challenges of taking the first steps toward interplanetary colonization. The story focuses not only on the astronauts, but also on their families and loved ones, as well as the ground team on Earth. Jacoby-Heron is said to be playing Penn’s daughter. The series’ producing team declined comment.
Hulu is developing Unspeakable, a single camera half-hour dramedy starring Mary McCormack (When We Rise) and executive produced by Chelsea Handler, from Tell Me You Love Me creator Cynthia Mort and Working Title Television, Deadline has learned. Based on bestselling author Meghan Daum’s book, the project is being written by Mort, who will serve as showrunner, with McCormack’s husband and producing partner Michael Morris (Smash) attached direct.
Based on Daum’s book, Unspeakable is about a 45-year-old woman (McCormack) who deals with life and its situations with radical honesty, raw humor, and an attitude that is hard not to fall in love with. It follows a woman trying to find her authentic self in a world where achieving an identity is never simple or complete, while simultaneously discussing subjects such as parental death, the decision not to have children, a harrowing near-death experience following a sudden illness, and many other thoughts that we might consider unspeakable in our culture.

I'm heartbroken to hear of Brad Bufanda's passing. He did great work on Veronica Mars. My heart goes out to his family.
— Rob Thomas (@RobThomas) November 3, 2017
Brad Bufanda, who played Felix Toombs on the first two seasons of Veronica Mars, committed suicide Wednesday. He was 34.
“We are completely devastated for he was an extremely talented young actor and wonderful, caring human being,” said Bufanda’s manager Kirsten Solem in a press statement. “He was reviving his career having just completed two movies and we are shocked and saddened by his passing. The family would appreciate privacy at this difficult time.”
According to police reports, Bufanda committed suicide by jumping from a building.

The pair will play Jared and Chaz, the hosts of a popular reality show titled Ghost Studz that examines paranormal activity. A Discovery of Witches has rounded out its coven.
The television adaptation has added Alex Kingston (Doctor Who) and Lindsey Duncan (The Leftovers, Sherlock) to its increasing ranks, which are led by Matthew Goode and Teresa Palmer.
Based on Deborah Harkness’ All Souls Trilogy, the show, produced by Sky Original Productions and Bad Wolf, is currently shooting the first season at the new Bad Wolf studios in Cardiff, Wales, as well as on location around the U.K. and Europe.
Kingston, best known for her portrayal of River Song on BBC’s Doctor Who, will play Sarah Bishop, a witch and extremely protective aunt of Diana Bishop (Teresa Palmer). The series is produced by Julie Gardner and Jane Tranter of Bad Wolf productions, who previously worked with Kingston on Doctor Who.
“Thrilled to be working again with Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner,” said Kingston in a statement. “They brought me into Doctor Who and introduced me to Cardiff!!! And I am back again… A home from home, with a terrific cast and crew!”
Lindsey Duncan, who was recently seen as Lady Smallwood on Sherlock, is joining fellow Sherlock cast member Louise Brealey on the Discovery of Witches team. Duncan will play Ysabeau, the haughty and fiercely protective vampire mother of Matthew de Clermont (Matthew Goode). “It was only a matter of time before I was asked to play a vampire. At last! I’m thrilled to be involved in the series. I know Bad Wolf will make something really special,” said Duncan.
Valarie Pettiford (The Blacklist, Being Mary Jane) and Tanya Moodie round out the latest casting additions as Emily (Em) Mather, the partner of Sarah Bishop, and Agatha Wilson, a daemon member of the Congregation who finds her family drawn into the mystery surrounding Ashmole 782, respectively.
Shooting for the series began in September and the show is slated to premiere in the UK in 2018. An American distributor has yet to be named.
FX has given a pilot green light to Compliance, a half-hour single-camera comedy from writer Sarah Burgess and Scott Rudin Prods. FX Productions is the studio.
Details about the project, penned by Burgess, have not been revealed but word is that it is centered around a private equity manager and his government-appointed compliance monitor.

Hulu is developing a series adaptation of the novel “Invisible Man” by Ralph Ellison.
Variety has learned that the project is in very early development stages, and that no script has yet been written. Hulu earlier this year acquired the rights to develop a series based on the landmark 1952 novel, which is owned by the Ralph and Fanny Ellison Charitable Trust. John Callahan is serving as an executive producer on the project.
Winner of the National Book Award in 1953, “Invisible Man” is considered a classic of 20th century American literature. The novel is told from the perspective of an unnamed African-American narrator who considers himself to be socially invisible due to the color of his skin. The narrator recalls stories from his life — first growing up and attending college in the South, then migrating to and living in New York City.
Rich Ting (Waco) has joined the cast of Warrior, Cinemax’s upcoming Tong Wars drama series inspired by the writings and work of martial arts icon Bruce Lee, from Fast & Furious‘ Justin Lin and Banshee co-creator Jonathan Tropper. The 10-episode series is a period crime drama set against the backdrop of the brutal Tong Wars in San Francisco’s Chinatown in the late 1800s. Ting will play a universally feared fighter and top lieutenant of the Hop Wei Tong.
Philip Hernandez (Gotham) has signed on for a recurring role in Season 3 of Hulu’s original drama series, The Path, from Universal Cable Productions and Jason Katims’ True Jack Prods. Created by Jessica Goldberg, The Path examines a family at the center of a controversial movement struggling with relationships, marriage and power, with each episode taking an in-depth look at what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want.
Hernandez will play Dr. Costa, a sexy South American ocular cancer doctor; a devout follower of Lilith’s (Sarita Choudhury) who gives her medical counsel.
