FOX has handed out a put-pilot commitment to Strange Conditions, a medical drama set five minutes in the future from Empire co-creator Danny Strong and This Is Us duo John Requa and Glenn Ficarra.
Here's Fox's official description of the drama: "This show needs to start with a warning: The conditions you will see are rare and potentially disturbing— and the treatments portrayed are not proven to work. At least not yet. Set five minutes in the future, the show takes place at the New York Institute of Experimental Medicine— on the bleeding edge of biotechnology and a little beyond. These whiz kids take on only the most singular cases— medical mysteries that will make your jaw drop! Each an expert their own field (medicine, bio-ethics, law, and psychology) with healthy egos—our team clashes in their battle to cure the incurable and expand the boundaries of nature. But just because they can do something, does that mean they should?"
Wes Jones (Billions) will pen the script and exec produce alongside Strong, Stacey Greenberg, Requa, Ficarra, Charlie Gogolak and Henry Finder. Danny Strong Productions and Zaftig Films produce the 20th Century Fox Television drama. Finder came up with the idea for the potential series.
