The CW has given a script development deal to a one-hour dramedy from Revenge executive producers Mike Kelley and Melissa Loy, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Near Beth Experience follows a cynical young stand-up comedian who survives a near-death experience. Suddenly, the former non-believer starts hearing the prayers of people in close proximity to her -- forcing her out of her egocentric comfort zone as she attempts to help others in eccentric, funny and begrudgingly heartfelt ways.
Rob Giles will write the script and serve as a co-executive producer. Kelley, who served as creator and showrunner on Revenge, will exec produce with Loy through their Page Fright banner. Warner Bros. TV, where Page Fright is based, will produce.
