HIT COMEDY "MOM" COMES TO TV LAND BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 18TH EMMY(R) WINNER ALLISON JANNEY AND ANNA FARIS STAR
New York, NY - September 15, 2017 - TV Land's lineup is getting even funnier as the network adds "Mom," the hilarious CBS sitcom that tugs at viewers' heartstrings, on Monday, September 18th, kicking off with a two week launch event. The critically-acclaimed sitcom from producer Chuck Lorre ("The Big Bang Theory") stars Emmy(R) winner Allison Janney and Anna Faris as two generations of the Plunkett women who reconnect with each other as they try to stay sober and overcome their rocky past. During the first two weeks on TV Land, select episodes from seasons one through four will air weeknights from 10pm to 11pm ET/PT and 1am to 2am ET/PT, with seasons one and two airing the first week and seasons three and four airing the second.
"'Mom' speaks perfectly to TV Land's audience of women who are looking for bright comedies that come from the heart," said Frank Tanki, General Manager of TV Land and CMT. "We're so thrilled to add 'Mom' to our line-up."
In "Mom," life hasn't been easy for Christy Plunkett (Faris), but now she's sober and trying to mend her relationship with her mother, Bonnie (Janney) - and at least one of those things is definitely a good idea. Bonnie may have a difficult relationship with concepts like "telling the truth," "paying the rent," and "setting a good example for her grandchildren," but she certainly keeps life interesting. She and Christy also have the support of the other women in their AA group - human fortune cookie Marjorie (Mimi Kennedy), newly sober Jill (Jaime Pressley), and pushover Wendy (Beth Hall) - who are always willing to hash things out over a meal at the bistro, just as long as Jill is paying. The series also features star-studded guest appearances by Octavia Spencer, Kevin Pollack, Ed Asner, Ellen Burstyn, Harry Hamlin, Rosie O'Donnell, Joe Manganiello, Wendie Malick, and Richard Schiff.
"Mom" will also air on TV Land's sister network CMT beginning Monday, October 2nd.
Full episodes will be available on the TV Land app, TVLand.com and on VOD.
