04:15 - American Housewife - Season 2 - George Hamilton Joins Cast

There will be some new faces in Westport this season. As Katie Otto (Katy Mixon) and the rest of the Otto family continue to grow in the upcoming season 2 of ABC’s American Housewife, the various children will be drawn in different directions. Oliver (Daniel DiMaggio) still wants to be rich, so he’s focused on befriending a new wealthy neighbor. EW can exclusively confirm that this neighbor will be played by actor George Hamilton.

“He’s playing a rich neighbor who comes out of prison and moves back into his house,” showrunner Sarah Dunn tells EW. “Oliver is going to befriend him. So that’s fun.”

Oliver’s siblings will also be going through their own struggles, as Taylor (Meg Donnelly) begins her driver’s license training and Anna-Kat (Julia Butters) seeks some independence away from her doting mother. Their brother, however, still has his eyes on the prize.

04:15 - Goliath - Season 2 - Showrunner Exits; Lawrence Trilling to Take Over

Showrunner Clyde Phillips (Dexter) has exited the drama after joining the Billy Bob Thornton starrer for season two. He will be replaced by exec producer Lawrence Trilling, who worked on season one of the series.

Sources say Phillips — who replaced David E. Kelley as the day to day showrunner on the series — and his writing team had written all 10 episodes of season two with Amazon and Thornton both signing off on scripts.

The creative rift happened after Thornton, sources say, was unhappy with how the season two premiere turned out. Production on the series was shut down and Phillips opted to step down rather than re-arc the entire season. Sources note the first four episodes of season two had been completed and were in editing. The season two premiere is now being rewritten and reshot and three episodes will be scrapped, bringing the season tally to seven. Production will resume Wednesday.

21:55 - MOVIES: IT - Sequel Plans Moving Forward at New Line

Even as New Line prepares for the Friday opening of its much anticipated adaptation of Stephen King's It, the company is moving toward a second movie based on the massive horror novel.

Gary Dauberman, one of the screenwriters on the new It, has quietly closed a deal to pen the screenplay for its sequel, and Andy Muschietti, who directed the new film, is waiting in the wings to return, although no deal is in place.

Producers Barbara Muschietti, Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg are expected to return as well.

A sequel, or, as its being called, a Chapter Two, was almost never in doubt even if the involvement of some of the creative players was.
