The Fosters - Telling - Review + POLL

This week on The Fosters:
All the Fosters kids except for Jude (Where is he by the way? He's barely in any episodes this season) attend a party at the Derby warehouse and it's from there that all the drama for this episode goes down. Mariana is still trying to keep the fact that she's training with the Junior Derby team. I don't really understand why Mariana keeps lying about this, because it's only going to get worse for her when her mum's find out that she's been lying. Jesus is also at this party where he at the end gets another seizure, something that he wants to keep a secret from his mum's but Mariana does tell them about it, which I definitely think was the right call.

Brandon and Grace are still going strong but in this episode Grace finds out about Courtney and Mason living at the Adams-Fosters which is certainly going to cause some trouble for the pair in the upcoming episodes. Callie is trying to stay under the radar which seems to be harder than she imagined. I really feel like Callie has taken Stef's words into account after the whole drama that unfolded in the beginning of the season and she's being more careful with her life, which is why she doesn't want to sign a petition about getting the University to cancel the appearance of the anti-immigration "expert" that has been invited to speak. The guy asking her to sign the petition thinks that she doesn't care about the cause but in reality, she's just trying to stay out of any trouble. As the episode goes on Callie finds out that Ximena is undocumented and they have a conversation about it. Afterwards, Callie does show up to the meeting and she asks what she can do to help because she does care about keeping people from spreading hate.

Stef starts to become obsessed with an on-going case at work which is is something that Lena struggles with because she feels like she's the only one who's trying to help Jesus with his TBI. This feels like such a realistic and relatable problem for a couple who's married, that one party feels like he or she is all alone because of their significant other's work. I like that the Fosters always try and deal with things that a lot of people can relate to and I think that the loneliness that Lena is feeling right now is something that a lot of people in a relationship and family can relate to.

Favourite character:
I think I have to give this one to Lena this episode. She is trying anything and everything she can in order to somehow help Jesus. She just wants to do whatever that she can to help Jesus in any way possible and it really got to me this episode. Especially during one of the last scenes when she broke down to Stef about it, which was one of my favourite scenes of the episode.

Best/Favourite scene:
My favourite scene from this episode was the ending scene, in which Lena is upset and tells Stef that they have a kid that's sick and how she feels like she's in this all by herself. Stef gives her a hug and says that she's sorry and then the episode ends with Lena and Stef sitting down on the bed with Jesus in his room, hugging him and telling him that they love him. I just thought that was such a good scene, first with Lena really letting Stef know that she needs her to not be completely caught up in her job because she has a family at home that needs her, and then the ending with Jesus. I just loved that both of his mum's came in to comfort him, to reassure him that they are here for him and tell him how much they love him.

Best quotes:
Ximena to Callie: "I'm just as much an American, as anyone in this country."

Lena to Stef: "We have a kid here at home who's sick, and he needs saving too"
