Hello everyone, sorry for the short delay with this weeks WRT but as most of you know I'm on vacation still hope you'll enjoy this rather smaller Edition. This week I'm (MK) joined by Klutzy Girl/ (KG), Milo (MI) and Luana. As always sit back, enjoy the read and share your thoughts in the comment section down below.
1. A One Piece live action series was announced! Do you think TV can do justice to this Manga/Anime based story or any Manga/Anime based story?
MI: Wow, this is the first time I've heard about this. I have no connection with One Piece having never seen or heard the manga but I'm really excited to see how this turns out.
2.Amazon is bringing The Romanoffs to TV with a very interesting concept. 8 hourlong episodes with each episode telling a story about new characters who are related to the Romanoff family. What is your take on this concept?
MI: Amazon also has a good track record with me and the idea of The Romanoffs with that concept sounds really intriguing, it seems like they're doing their own version of The Crown but with this added element makes it potentially a unique experiment. Plus with Matthew Weiner's name attached after the excellent Mad Men (which I still need to catch up on), and inspirations cited that include the likes of Black Mirror in terms of structure, I'm really excited to see how this plays out, especially with the added budget attached.
LA: Hopefully every episode will be good and not just a mixed bag, but I think it's interesting to explore how significantly the connection (either true or false) with our ancestors can affect our day-to-day life.
MK: I love the Romanoffs. Such a strong Family and the announced cast does make me anticipate it even more. The concept is tricky but as always if the writing is good enough to acompany this concept it can turn out to be majestic.
3.Abigail Spencer is bringing Owen's sister Megan to live (again) on Grey's Anatomy! Do you look forward to the story or are you afraid of the Owen focused storyline?
KG: I've been expecting Megan's return for quite some time so I'm looking forward to it despite the fact that I don't actually like Owen. And while I'm sad Bridget Regan can't reprise the role, I'm looking forward to seeing what Abigail Spencer brings to the role.
LA: I think this soryline could be interesting, but anything Owen-centric will become annoying if things with Amelia aren't resolved. I hope it becomes a way to delve deeper into Owen and his trauma, and to see Abigail Spencer shine, not just more unnecessary drama as an excuse to postpone dealing with his marital issues.
MK: I'm very angsty about this Story, cause it not only will involve more Owen but Nathan and a possible messed up Nathan-Megan-Mer triangle. But the return of Kim Raver makes me hopeful this Story will be well balanced and developed. Also Abigail filming Timeless soon means it won't last too long.
4.The new exclusive DC TV project Titans cast Teagen Croft, a 13 year old for the complex role of Raven. Is casting such a young actress a stepping stone for the role or could the young take be a blessing in disguise?
MI: Teenage actors can often make or break a project and especially when someone as young as 13 is cast in such a complex role it presents loads of challenges. I'm really interested to see how Teagen Croft handles the role, but I have faith in the casting department that they wouldn't have cast a younger actress unless she was actually very good. It's refreshing to see actual teenagers being cast as teenagers for a change, rather than the late-twenty somethings that the CW often uses.
MK: As Milo said this can be a winning or stepping stone for the series. Haven't seen Teagen before but a 13 year old for such a heavy role was really a surprise. I mean even her character description is dark and gloomy. I hope they didn't made the bad desicion but I trust the team around G. Berlanti and his casting Team for fronted with David Rapaport.
