Hamish Linklater has signed on to star opposite Amy Brenneman in the Turner-owned cable network's drama pilot Deadlier Than the Male.
Executive produced by Bruna Papandrea (Big Little Lies), the drama revolves around a three characters, each with a mysterious and troubling past: a woman who once looked into the eyes of a dangerous killer; a former serial predator desperate to find redemption; and a grieving mother obsessed with finding her missing daughter. As each of them is pushed to the edge, the truth about their pasts and their motives grows ever murkier, blurring the lines between victim and perpetrator.
Linklater will play John Tyler, a former serial predator who has done his time in prison and is desperate to turn over a new leaf. John finds himself pulled into the grasp of Mary Barlow (Brenneman), a grieving mother searching for her missing daughter, who thinks his "expertise" might be useful to her.
