Hey all,
Leverage has featured just twice in seven years of the competition before today: 2013, in which it finished 17th, and last year, where it was runner-up to Person of Interest. Its success in 2016 came out of absolutely nowhere, and that was almost certainly the biggest shock of the competition. With so many strong shows in the running this time around, I'd be surprised if it can repeat its best but only time will tell. For a second round spot, it must defeat cop comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine, making its debut appearance. It is well supported, but taking down last year's number two would be quite a surprise.
Rounding out the left-hand side of the draw for the first round is a tie between two beloved ABC series, Grey's Anatomy and Once Upon a Time. This is yet another battle I cannot call, although Once would likely be the favourite here. That being said, having been runner-up in its debut year of 2012, it has declined year upon year, finishing lower with each passing attempt. 51st was its placing last year, so a win today would break that downward spiral. Grey's hasn't had a whole lot of success in recent years either, the lowest ranked second round casualty in 2016. A few votes may well decide this one.
A reminder of the rules:
