Hey all,
Psych received nearly 80 more votes at the nomination stage than any other finished show; with the series returning for a special two-hour TV movie in December, it received a serious boost. How far it will be able to make it in a straight shootout is anyone's guess, but the draw gives it non-stop tough tests after the second round. Today, though, it must beat Smallville, the second longest-running US genre show. I'm unsure what to expect from the Man of Steel series in this competition, as the record shows it finishing all across the field in its appearances in every iteration. The nominations would suggest it faces an uphill task.
Battlestar Galactica, which has featured in all but one edition of the competition, opens today's other poll. Its record isn't great, although it has often been good for a second round finish (four). To do so again, it must take down House, returning to the competition after a one-year absence. This is another difficult one to call, with both having been off the air for quite some time but with a moderate number of fans still around on SpoilerTV. My money would be on House, but the alternative wouldn't surprise me.
A reminder of the rules:
1) Two shows will go into battle in a poll, where after exactly 24 hours, the leading show will win the battle and will progress into the next round. Each poll will open at 12pm ET on a given day.
2) Vote for your favourite and spread the word with your friends & fans.
3) One vote per person per poll.
4) Comment on what you voted for on in the comments below.
5) Have fun. This is a friendly & competitive competition. Please do not start attacking other fans or fangroups in the comments, because this really isn't what this competition is about.
