SARAH HYLAND REVEALED TO BE A SURPRISING NEW FORM OF THE SEELIE QUEEN DURING THE SUMMER SEASON, AND FAN FAVORITE ALISHA WAINWRIGHT UPPED TO SERIES REGULAR FOR SEASON THREE IN FREEFORM’S HIT ORIGINAL SERIES ‘SHADOWHUNTERS,’ ANNOUNCED TODAY AT SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON
‘Shadowhunters’ Digital EP Available Starting July 21 on Platforms Including iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music and More
During “Shadowhunters”’ San Diego Comic-Con panel, Freeform, Disney’s young adult television and streaming network, announced that actress Alisha Wainwright, who portrays Maia, has been upped to series regular for the upcoming third season of the hit original series. Also revealed during the panel by executive producers Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer, previously announced guest star Sarah Hyland will be portraying an iteration of the devious Seelie Queen in the August 7 and August 14 episodes of the series. “Shadowhunters” airs MONDAYS at 8:00 – 9:00 p.m. EDT, and episodes are available on the Freeform app and Freeform.com (same date and time).
Along with revealing who Sarah Hyland is playing, an exclusive first look at her portrayal of the Seelie Queen was shown during the panel.
The “Shadowhunters” digital EP will be released by Hollywood Records on Friday, July 21, on platforms including iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music and more. The six-track album features the theme song “This is the Hunt” performed by Ruelle, plus two songs performed by Alberto Rosende. The EP will be available at 9:00 p.m. PDT/12:00 a.m. EDT tonight and can be downloaded here and streamed here.
In an all-new episode airing July 17, two of the three Mortal Instruments are missing and everyone is on the hunt for the last one – the Mortal Mirror. Jace and Clary race to recover it first before it could fall into enemy hands. But along the way, Clary realizes that her brother Jonathan may be closer than she thought.
Meanwhile, Isabelle has a hard time accepting the fact that her little brother Max is growing up as Maia struggles to bring her guard down with Simon.

The series stars Katherine McNamara as Clary Fray, Dominic Sherwood as Jace Herondale, Alberto Rosende as Simon Lewis, Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle Lightwood, Matthew Daddario as Alec Lightwood, Isaiah Mustafa as Luke Garroway and Harry Shum Jr. as Magnus Bane.
