Safe, a joint commission by Netflix and France's Canal+, is an eight-episode, one-hour drama from bestselling writer Harlan Coben and Manchester-based banner Red Productions. With a screenplay by BAFTA and Emmy winner writer Danny Brocklehurst (Ordinary Lies, Shameless) and set to star Michael C. Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under) and Amanda Abbington (Sherlock), the series sees a widow raising two teenage girls in a picturesque gated community become embroiled overnight in mystery involving murder, a disappearance and buried secrets.
The drama, which began shooting Tuesday, will stream globally on Netflix outside of France. Studiocanal, which owns a majority stake in Red Productions, has distribution rights.
