June is usually a quieter month, but I'm sure that all of you will have plenty of outstanding performers to nominate. It should be another fun filled round of POTM.
Now, I want to address a change that you will see with the polls next week. This change has been in contemplation for some time now, but events occurring around the voting for May made it evident that this particular change couldn't wait for the next cycle to begin. Effective with the polls for this round the results will no longer be made visible during active voting. The results will be made known immediately following the closing of the polls. Will this stop cheating? No, there is very little that can stop cheaters from trying to cheat, but it will certainly make it harder.
POTM relies on participation from all of you to work so that we can acknowledge the performers that you want us to honor. In the recent Reader's Survey, POTM was mentioned several times and some great suggestions were made. We were already in discussion to make some big changes for the 2018 round and I can promise you that those changes will massively overhaul the contest. We're still working out all the details, but we did take many of your suggestions to heart, so I look forward to being able to unveil that in February when the first round of the 2018 POTM cycle begins. To be fair to this 2017 cycle and all of its winners we can't and won't institute any major changes until this cycle ends. But come 2018 be prepared for some pretty extreme changes that should make this contest even more interesting and fun for all.
Please read the January POTM Nominations post for full rules.
Performers can only be nominated for performances that occurred in the month of June! Please note that a performer can only win 2 times in a year before they become disqualified for the rest of the year.
