Dark Matter - Hot Chocolate - Advance Preview: “From Within”
Jul 19, 2017
AM Dark Matter ReviewsWith the ship under attack, the crew is forced to defend it from one of their own. To those paying attention at the end of the last episode it shouldn’t be hard to guess who on the crew has been turned against the others. The bigger questions to contemplate are why and the cause. It’s one thing to do battle with an unfamiliar enemy, but to have to deal with a rogue friend isn’t an easy task for this crew. Even though Ryo has given them plenty of experience in this department it still doesn’t make the situation any less heartbreaking. To make matters worse they have a delegation from several colonies on board that they have to worry about protecting. Things rapidly progress from bad to worse to intense as the early part of the episode unfolds and then the intensity carries throughout.
After the opening act, all of the action that takes place is on the ship and it is a fierce fight for control of the Raza. Things are much more complicated since they are up against one of their own who they have to stop but don’t want to harm. There is a cool space ship fight and epic hand-to-hand fight along with intense gun battles. Two engages in what is her very best fight sequence so far this scene. Melissa O’Neil and her scene partner deliver an absolutely flawless fight that is fierce.
Through all the chaos the crew ends up separated leaving many of them to fend for themselves. One of them resorts to desperate measures to try and help bring the assault to an end. This crewmate also gets a very unexpected assist. This is an action heavy episode with an extremely interesting story. As we’ve seen before to save one of their own they’ll go to great lengths, but when that one has been turned against them it ups the stakes. In typical Dark Matter style, this episode ends on a big cliffhanger and it’ll be very interesting to see how this particular one is resolved.
Don’t miss this action packed episode when it airs Friday, July 21st at 9/8c on SyFy in the US and Space in Canada.
Here are some quotes to tide you over:
“I assumed we’d be fighting the corporations, not each other.”
“Yeah, well, stranger things have happened.”
“We really gotta get that fixed.”
“That seems almost cruel.”
“I have a good feeling about this.”
