USA Network today announced the pilot pickup of a new comedic drama from the Universal Cable Productions. Titled Olive Forever, the pilot follows the exploits of Olive (forever!), a mysterious high school student with an affection for cat burglary-type shenanigans, mostly because she is a cat burglar. New to a sleepy town with a criminal underbelly, Olive must navigate new foster parents, new boyfriends, new gangsters… and new crime opportunities!
Olive Forever is executive produced by writer Brian Duffield (Insurgent, The Babysitter) and his producing partner Nicki Cortese of Jurassic Party; Brian Robbins (Smallville, One Tree Hill), Matt Kaplan (The Lazarus Effect) and Brett Bouttier (Before I Fall) on behalf of AwesomenessTV; and Matt Shakman (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Fargo, Game of Thrones). Shakman is also set to direct.
Three of USA Network's previously announced pilots were recently picked up to series: Unsolved, a true crime drama about the investigations into the murders of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G.; Damnation, an epic saga set against the American heartland during the Great Depression; and The Sinner (premiering Aug. 2), a limited series starring Jessica Biel about a woman who commits an unthinkable crime.
