Sissy Spacek and Jane Levy are moving into Hulu's Castle Rock.
Castle Rock is a 10-episode drama from writers and exec producers Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason (Manhattan). It's described as an anthology that weaves together characters and themes from King's novels, featuring the mysterious town of Castle Rock. The psychological-horror series combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King's works, weaving a saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland.
Spacek, who recently wrapped Netflix's Bloodline, will star as Ruth Deaver, the estranged adoptive mother of Henry (Holland) and a retired professor whose fading memories may hold a key to Castle Rock's unsettling past. The casting reunites Spacek with King after the actress starred in the 1976 feature film adaptation of horror classic Carrie.
Meanwhile, Suburgatory gradLevy will play Jackie, the death-obsessed and self-appointed historian of Castle Rock.
