The Sony Pictures Television-based single-camera comedy hales from Adam F. Goldberg, who also debuted Imaginary Mary this year, with the Jenna Elfman comedy not expected to return for a second run. ABC owed the full cost of the production on the now veteran sitcom. The per-episode price tag is said to be $3.1 million an episode — a far cry from Modern Family's $5 million per.
