By the Book - Bible Comedy Ordered to Series
CBS has handed out a series order for bible comedy By the Book (formerly known as Living Biblically).
Exec produced by Johnny Galecki via his overall deal with Big Bang Theory producers Warner Bros. Television, the comedy revolves around a modern day man at a crossroads in his life who decides to live according to the bible. Jay R. Ferguson, Lindsey Kraft, Ian Gomez, David Krumholtz, Tony Rock and Camryn Manheim star in the series based on the book The Year of Living Biblically by A.J. Jacobs.
The multicamera comedy pilot was written by Patrick Walsh (2 Broke Girls), who exec produces alongside Galecki, Spencer Medof and Andrew Haas. The comedy stems from the overall deal Galecki scored as part of his Big Bang contract renegotiations with Warner Bros. Television.
