We start out with some epic shots of New Orleans. What an incredible city!
Looks like there’s trouble going down in a pool hall. A man enters the establishment, ignoring the orders for the men there to throw him out. He wants to know who the blue van outside belongs to and he’s not leaving until he gets an answer. Wow! He manages to take down everyone in the bar in less than a minute! Did anyone give up the info on the blue van? I guess we will soon see!
Gregorio and LaSalle are on their way to a crime scene. Gregorio thinks Pride is dating Rita. According to her, he has an extra, “bounce in his step.”
Pride is already at the bar waiting for LaSalle and Gregorio. The assailant had a Marine Corps tattoo on his arm, so the NOLA police called them in.
One person died in the incident, three are in the hospital, and the two remaining guys ran off when the police showed up.
Sebastian joins the team with some serious cologne. He is adorable and his character is really growing on me!
He has a possible ID on the attacker. Staff Sargent John Brossette left fingerprints all over the scene.
The murder victim, Terrance Hayes, was the owner of the bar. He has a history with the cops and it looks like he was tortured.
Sebastian has the surveillance feed. Percy is impressed with his fighting skills. She says he’s “highly trained.”
Why was he in the bar? Why did he attack those men?
Brossette is from Haiti. He and his wife moved to the States, where he joined the Marines after doing relief work with them in Haiti.
Gregorio and LaSalle head over to Brossette’s neighborhood. He’s known there as a “Guardian Angel.” He looks after the people in the rough neighborhood, ravaged by Hurricane Katrina, and keeps the trouble at bay. Something isn’t adding up? Why would someone who is doing so much good take out six people in a bar?
Ooh! Brossette is alive, but he has been shot and he looks to be in a lot of pain.
Percy found something! The bar owner made a large cash deposit of ten grand recently, which is way more then he normally deposits.
Pride is annoyed, the Mayor keeps calling. I thought the Mayor was done? Did I miss something? Ohhhh! Pride says that the Mayor, “might be nervous,” because he’s coming after him for Javier Garcia’s’ death.
Sebastian and Patton are fighting, but they have a lead. They have special software used by the CIA to read lips. Before dying, the bar owner tells Brossette about Emerald Pawn Shop.
Pride calls in the team and they all head to the pawn shop near the victim’s house in Clearwater. Shots fired in the pawn shop! Brossette has a knife to the throat of Resnick, the man working in the pawn shop.
Pride, Gregorio, LaSalle, Sebastian, and Percy rush in with guns drawn. They have Brossette surrounded. Pride tells Gregorio to cuff Brossette. I don’t think this is going to go well… WHOA! Brossette just kicked everyone’s hind parts and escaped! He is a fighting machine!
Everyone is back at HQ and nursing their wounds. Pride got a kick to the gut, Gregorio is bleeding from a cut above her eyebrow, and Christopher has a bloody arm.
Rita calls and Pride turns into a puddle of smiles. That’s adorable. I still am not a fan of her character though… Not yet at least.
Patton calls Brossette “a ghost.” He hasn’t been caught on any of the security cameras. They decide to look for Resnick instead, since he’ll most likely be easier to find.
Uh oh! Rita told Pride that Mayor Hamilton just held a press conference and through Pride and NCIS under the bus for not catching Brossette quicker. Pride looks angry!
Percy wants to know why Hamilton would do that. Pride says it’s for one reason, “to catch his attention and now he’s got it.” He grabs his gun and heads out.
Pride heads right to the Mayor’s office. They have a major blow out! Pride tells him this whole thing happened because he took resources away from Clearwater and gave them to Garcia instead. YIKES!
Pride and LaSalle head back to the pawn shop. LaSalle finds a bunch of animal tranquilizers. Why would he have those? They might be able to find Resnick, if he heads back to a local vet office to pick up more tranquilizers.
Resnick heads to the vet, as predicted. Gregorio and Pride are on it. Looks like Brossette is on it too. He holds Resnick down and says, “WHERE IS SHE?” The NCIS team are prepared for this fight and use flash bombs and other tools to bring down Brossette.
Once he’s cuffed, he confesses that, “It’s not what it looks like!” He says that they have his wife and if he doesn’t find her soon, it might be too late!
Pride and Percy interrogate Brossette. He says, “I only wanted to find my wife!”
He says when he came home the night before last, his wife wasn’t there. He said she never came home. Brossette says that there have been “whispers” in the streets that immigrants are vanishing. NOPD didn’t look into it properly. Brossette says he isn’t going to let anyone, “take my wife!”
He says that he followed leads, which led him to the blue van, then Hayes (the bar owner), then Resnick.
In the other interrogation room with Gregorio and LaSalle, Resnick admits that he “cleans women up,” for human trafficking. They are shipped out of the country. That’s why he has the tranquillizers. What a terrible human being! He says that he gets the women from Hayes, cleans them up, makes a call on a burner cell, and leaves. When he comes back, the money is there and the women are gone. Resnick says he doesn’t know anyone else in the trafficking ring. They purposely set it up that way.
Uh oh, Hamilton sends Rita to pick up Brossette. Pride is pissed! The Mayor wants to make an announcement that they caught Brossette, Hayes’ killer.
Pride agrees to help Brossette find his wife, but he has to agree to help. Pride says that it’s going to be dangerous. Brossette agrees to help.
Rita isn’t thrilled about Pride’s plan. He says that he only needs 12 hours to find the human traffickers. She agrees to give him 12 hours, “not a minute more.”
Pride uncuffs Brossette. He says that he’s the only person who can get the traffickers to meet him in person. He tells Brossette to contact the traffickers with the burn phone and tell them that he ONLY wants his wife, that he doesn’t care about the rest. If they don’t follow suit, he will continue to wreak havoc on them.
OH NO! It’s a set up! The human traffickers didn’t bring his wife, they brought guns and lots of them.
The team takes down the traffickers, but Brossette is beside himself. He desperately wants his wife!
The news is on and it appears they are completely ignoring the human traffickers. The team needs to hurry before the Mayor blames everyone on Brossette.
Percy reports that the bad guys are all part of a Bulgarian crime ring.
The Mayor is not happy with Pride. He tells Pride to “drop it,” meaning the trafficking case. He threatens Pride. Pride isn’t having it, he storms out and runs right into Rita.
Pride is trying to figure out why Hamilton is so concerned with this case. Rita says that the Mayor, with “willful intent,” is taking resources away from Clearwater. He wanted Brossette caught as soon as possible in order to keep Clearwater out of the news. Grrrr! That Mayor makes me so mad!
LaSalle and Percy may have found the ship with the women, but it’s already in international waters.
Pride and LaSalle head out with the US Coast Guard. They find one of the Bulgarian crime ring members on a boat in international waters. His boat is clear, but Pride wants the destination of the cargo ship that left the previous night. That’s where the women are most likely being held.
Uh oh… Pride tells LaSalle to wave off the Coast Guard. Now it’s just Pride, LaSalle, and the bad guy on a boat in international waters… OH WOW! Pride pushes him overboard and takes off in his boat. LaSalle says, “You do know there are sharks in the Gulf.” Pride responds, “Fully aware!”
Pride turns the boat around and pulls up along side of the bad guy. Pride wants to know the “ship name and destination.” The bad guy, who’s struggling to keep his head above water gives him both answers! The women are headed to Aruba.
The US Coast Guard finds the women in time! Mrs. Brossette is in the container and cries when a Coast Guard officer tells her that her husband has been looking for her and will be very happy to see her. Aw! I love happy endings!
Back at the bar, LaSalle is telling the team about how Pride pushed the bad guy overboard. The bad guys are in jail and Pride is talking to Rita about Brossette’s sentence.
Rita and Pride are in the kitchen and there’s more than food cooking, if you know what I mean! *wink wink* Pride negotiates reduced charges for Brossette and almost makes out with Rita. He tells her about his concerns with the Major and says he WILL prove that he was involved with Javier Garcia. The two lovebirds can’t hold back any longer and they share a sexy kiss. Looks like Gregorio was right all along!
The episode ends with Percy and Gregorio walking in the streets of New Orleans. Percy invites Gregorio out, but she turns her down. She says that she has a hot bath and room service waiting for her back at her place.
The episode ends with Gregorio opening her front door and instantly realizing something is amiss. She pulls her gun and tackles a man to the ground. OH MY GOSH! His response? “That’s one way to greet your husband!”
*******
My Thoughts:
Powerful episode!
Bringing awareness to human trafficking is incredibly important and this episode did just that and more.
The team seems to be fully functioning and working together as a single unit now. The writers have found the perfect combo for Gregorio’s character. She’s tough, loyal, and has a soft spot for those she cares about.
I’m not sure how I feel about the romance between Pride and Rita? I find myself like this when Gibbs gets in a relationship as well, you know? Only time will tell!
Also, sorry on the delayed updates. Today is completely dedicated to getting caught back up!
