Exodus is a story about rounding up a bunch of immigrants and shipping them off Earth…. It’s a hot topic and this week the series didn’t pull its punches in more ways than one. This episode is Supergirl doing what it does best, the relatable personal dilemmas, the drama, the Danvers sisters, a shot at recent events and ultimately Supergirl saving the day. Both Kara and Alex cross a line and could face consequences for their actions. So, let us look at the drama unfold as it follows on from last week.

We all know Jeremiah has stolen the Alien registry for Cadmus. It’s a safe bet they don’t plan on doing anything nice with it like sending flowers or chocolates. As a family, happily singing along to Bruno Mars, discover they are out there abducting them.

At the DEO, we learn they are not the first and J’onn makes a point of telling them Jeremiah is a hostile and asks if it will be a problem for Alex and Kara. You can see Alex is still troubled by Jeremiahs’ betrayal. Supergirl says the story needs to be put out there to warn Aliens but as the DEO is under the radar it would have to be done off the record. She is convinced, as Kara, she can talk to Snapper to release the story. She leaves with a nice little cape flick (I think Dean Cain has been teaching her some moves).

It’s not a surprise Snapper won’t run the story, in fact, even the Supergirl quotes aren’t impressing him. Kara says she can get him an exclusive with Supergirl.

At the Alien bar, Maggie finally beats Alex at the pool but Alex’s head isn’t in the game. She is worried what will happen if Jeremiah gets caught in the crossfire between the DEO and Cadmus. Maggie understands and is there for Alex. It seems to be couples night as Winn is there with Lyra. However, Cadmus soon come in guns firing and try to take the Aliens. Alex, Maggie and James all fight but they take Lyra and the other Aliens away. However, with Guardians help they capture one of the Cadmus men.

At the DEO J’onn is unable to read him but Alex loses it and the guy says if he talks he dies. J’onn stops Alex but the guy got stomped on in a place no man wants to get stomped!

Supergirl meets with Snapper with some nifty changing from Kara. However, he still isn’t convinced by the story.

Alex gets a visit from what she thinks is Jeremiah. In fact, he convinces her they need something from the DEO. However, it’s J’onn in disguise as Jeremiah as he knew Alex was conflicted and tells her she is suspended.
We soon see Lillian and the real Jeremiah and it seems their plans are to ship the Aliens off world in a spaceship which we saw last week.

Kara arrives at Alex’s and although she doesn’t agree with J’onn methods she does agree Alex’s judgement is clouded. She promises to protect Jeremiah.

Maggie, who has been listening, doesn’t agree and will do all she can to help Alex. You get the feeling these two certainly don’t plan to follow the rules, ‘Ride or Die’.

Kara is still trying to get her article published and literally runs into Lena Luthor. Lena tells her to run the story herself on a blog and offers to see if anything at L Corp can help locate Cadmus and the missing Aliens.

Once again Cadmus tries to abduct another Alien but Alex and Maggie stop them and manage to download their van’s GPS so they know where it has been. Hopefully, this will give Alex a location to Cadmus. These two are dangerous together and Maggie even gets to use Alex’s gun. Alex must go to Cadmus alone to confront Jeremiah.

Lena has found something; an old Luthor Corp building that had been shut down has billed the company. Her assistant, however, seems to be working for Lillian and tells her Lena knows where she is. Lillian asks her to scare Lena off but not hurt her.

Alex also finds the location and comes face to face with Jeremiah who tries to tell her he did it all to protect his family from Cadmus.
Mon- El, who has done little in the episode but be annoying, listens when Kara asks for advice if she should run her blog. She knows the consequences but she does it anyway as she believes it’s the right thing to do. She gets a call from Lena and overhears that she is in trouble.

Lena is in big trouble and the goons get careless and Lena falls off the balcony. Lucky for her Supergirl catches her and takes out the goons. She explains she was having coffee with Kara Danvers when she called. Lena tells Supergirl where Cadmus is hiding. Yes, a Luthor and Super once again working together; mother would not approve.

Alex is pleading to Jeremiah’s better judgement. Lillian tells them they need to ship off what Aliens they have as the location is compromised. Alex, of course, has a backup plan in the form of explosives around the facility. Lillian tries to call her bluff but Alex isn’t lying. Jeremiah soon sides with his daughter. Alex tries to stop the ship but it needs to be done from the inside. Despite her efforts, the Aliens can’t be freed and the ship launches. Lillian once again flees as Jeremiah gets in a battle with Cyborg Hank. His fate is unknown.

Alex contacts Winn for help flying but she is locked out of the controls. They need to slow it down before it goes into hyperspace. Supergirl arrives and I loved the scene when Alex encourages her as she tries to stop the ship. It has been sidelined for too long, the Danvers sisters are the heart of this show and scenes like this show us why. Of course, she saves not only the Aliens but her sister from being launched into a different universe.

Winn is reunited with Lyra and I think we will be seeing more of his feisty girlfriend. Kara gets fired as she broke the rules, you need to check all the facts. As Snapper rightly says ‘one misattributed quote from a candidate you put a fascist in the white house’. Yes, this episode certainly didn’t pull any punches saying news should not be faked! Even though Kara’s claims were true, she could not substantiate them.

J’onn and Alex talk, he explains he was trying to protect her and lifts her suspension. I love the father-daughter relationship these to have.

Kara is upset about the loss of her job and Mon - El says she should focus on being Supergirl. While personally, I have seen her role as a reporter not being utilised are we going to suddenly have Kara going it alone? Also, the loss of CATCO which at one time would have devastated Kara now seems to play down to her role of Supergirl. Will she join the DEO full time?

This episode didn’t end with Supergirl becoming a full-time hero as off World, we finally get to see who those Aliens are behind the masks. But who are they? (Nice to see Teri Hatcher and Kevin Sorbo). Your highnesses they were called? (We get an idea from the trailer of the next episode and I am sure most of us have guessed correctly).

We take a break for a week but I for one can’t wait for what is to come.
