Outcast - Episode 2.01 (Season Two Premiere) - Advanced Preview

Welcome back to Season Two of Robert Kirkman and Paul Azaceta's "Outcast", the demonic possession story based on their comic book series of the same name. I enjoyed Season One of "Outcast" and am anticipating Season Two, which should solve some of the mysteries presented in the first ten episodes, as well as, create plenty of more questions surrounding Kyle Barnes and what makes him so 'special'.

The premiere episode of Season One displayed a cold open equally scary, creepy and horrifying to witness - setting the stage for a season that definitely lived up to the hype surrounding the program before it even aired. The writers and creators needed to up the stakes for the follow-up season and fans will clearly notice the similarities and differences to the freshman season right away. The cold open this time around is as good or better than last seaosn's premiere especially with the heart-pounding rhythm in the background throughout.

I was fortunate enough to watch the Season Two premiere of Outcast and I can tell immediately it will be an amazing ten episodes filled with horrific scenes, creepy characters plenty of demonic possession for Kyle and the Rev to perform some exorcisms. If you recall, in the finale last season Kyle and his daughter, Amber, were fleeing their town of Rome, West Virginia only to discover that the 'demons' were everywhere. This gets addressed in the season two premiere as we find out only a very short time has passed since the events of Season one.

Every fan of Season One of "Outcast" will enjoy the Season Two premiere. The pacing is a little faster than any season one episode making it much more enjoyable as a whole. Season Two will be a lot more fun if the premiere is any indication of what is to come.

Things To Notice

- There is a flashback scene in the episode I believe will play an important role later in the season so keep an eye out for that.

- The Rev definitely feels guilty after the events of the season one finale. How is he going to handle that going forward? Philip Glenister, who plays the Rev, does an amazing job in this episode.

- Megan also is feeling guilty after the events of last season's finale. Watch for her scenes as well and what they could mean for her character moving forward.

NOTE: "Outcast" Season Two premieres this coming Monday, April 3rd, on FOX UK.
