Interviews

“It’s forcing him to go really dark,” Dallas warns. “On his quest to find out the true story of what happened with his father, and the true story of who his father was, he gets so caught up in that madness that he’s almost willing to go to really, really dark places.”

The hour also features flashbacks to young David and James, revealing how the twins were split at a young age — expect Alan Dale’s return as King George on Sunday! “We go way back into why David’s father gave up his brother, and we find out the real reasons,” Dallas says. “We find out that maybe he thought it was a mistake, and maybe he did try to make things right, which is also another big piece to the puzzle for David in finding out that his father wasn’t what he thought, that maybe he was a good man, and he was just trying to do his best.”

Surveying the status of Regina’s doppelganger, Parrilla says, “Right now she’s a snake, but she’s not a snake for long. She comes back, and Episode 14 (airing March 26) is a big Evil Queen/Regina episode. There’s a big standoff between them, and there are a lot of words exchanged. A lot of words are exchanged! It was quite challenging, and also a lot of fun.”

As for how the duo’s next showdown plays out, Parrilla shared this: “It gets really heated, very quickly. And both of their lives are threatened.”

Interview

Yes, Emma now believes she’s making her own destiny, but truly accepting her fate might prove difficult. “It’s something she’s going to wrestle with, but what she’s come to terms with is that this is who she is,” Kitsis says. “She’s a warrior, she’s a fighter, her job is to protect her family. She would never give up a moment of the time she’s had over the six years with Henry and finding her family. If her life is what it takes to protect them, that’s what makes Emma a true hero; she puts others before her. That doesn’t mean that she likes it, it doesn’t mean that it’s fair.”

So will Emma actually die? All involved are staying mum on her ultimate fate. “Obviously no one wants to die,” Morrison says. “She’s dealing it with the way she’s dealt with every other crisis, which is that they’re going to do everything they can to fight him, figure it out, and try to not die. It’s not like she hasn’t faced things like this before, so it’s another one of those situations.”

In the episode “Murder Most Foul” — Before Hook takes the next step in his relationship with Emma, he wants to make sure David sees him as more than just a pirate. So when David asks Hook to help him uncover the truth about his father’s death, Hook agrees. Meanwhile, Regina works to acclimate Robin to life in Storybrooke, but soon discovers he has a dark side that makes the task much more complicated than she anticipated, on “Once Upon a Time,” SUNDAY, MARCH 12 (8:00–9:00 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network.
