Blindspot - Evil Did I Dwell, Lewd I Did Live - Review + Favourite Moment POLL

'Evil Did I Dwell' did a serviceable job in moving the main story forward, albeit only slightly and in predictable, going through the motions type of fashion.

The episode picks up right where we left off from last month with Naz being choked to death in her car. As we have seen on occasion, Naz has some moves and she quickly dispatches of her assailant. I wish we would see more of this Naz, most of her screen time has been spent on her as a diplomat and, to the disgust of viewers, as a random love interest to Weller. Her character fits so much more seamlessly into the show when she is getting in on some of the action too.

Cade being the main source is a kind of whatever type of twist, since we haven't had enough time to get know the character and there isn't much to his personality to make him stand out (quick Wikipedia search when he makes his appearance). Though does anyone else think he looks like a young Josh Brolin?

The episode was really a big lead up to the confrontation with Borden and the conclusion of his storyline. Apparently Borden is the big death that has been teased over the past couple of months? A bit of a letdown, but expected since every other major player in Blindspot plays some kind of important role. Jane, Roman, Patterson, and Weller are too central to the story; I can't see them killing off another female protagonist in Naz so soon after introducing her as a sort-of replacement to Mayfair; and Reade and Zapata's friendship is arguably one of the strong points of this season and series as a whole. Borden was really the odd man out, unless the writers did something gutsy, which they did not.

If anything, the death of Borden opens up an oppurtunity for some strong character development with Patterson, as we will now see the repercussions of his death on her over the coming episodes. Blindspot does seem to be getting more and more overly melodramatic as season two progresses. The usually cheerful Patterson will now be competing with Reade for the most tormented and traumatized soul of the week. Can Rich Dotcom be upgraded to the main cast to add some levity to this show before it begins to take itself too seriously?

Speaking of Reade, his downward spiral continued this week after he just barely passes a random drug test. As aforementioned, Reade's friendship with Zapata has been a strong point throughout the series and her trying to help him through his problems offered some strong character moments. It is feeling a bit heavy though and I hope some kind of resolution or progression to this storyline happens sooner than later.

In terms of action, the episode did not have as much of it as we've come to expect from Blindspot. Jane's fight scene with Cade was brief, but tense. Also, watching Jane slide down the laundry chute was very fun.

Overall, 'Evil Did I Dwell, Lewd I Did Live' was a solid, if not, predictable return to the final third of season 2 of Blindspot. The show has been suffering from your typical network television malady of feeling a bit dragged out, though at least we get some threads tied up ala the conclusion of Borden's storyline.
