Riverdale - Body Double - Advanced Preview: Full Dark No Stars

After two solid episodes, Riverdale is shifting gears and delivered their best episode yet. "Body Double" takes the whole Riverdale adventure to a new level and digs deeper into the characters and their unusual tendencies.

The cliffhanger from the last episode will be swiftly resolved and some small tidbits about Jason's murder case will be revealed. The reveals will start another story which will involve my boy Jughead. He is a pure delight and his solo run this week was really enjoyable. Cole Sprouse shines through in this role and gives so much life to the role and the show overall. I really need a Jughead spin-off, best case situation with Stiles in the pre-FBI program he got in. Jughead's investigation starts a domino effect of reveals which will headline next week's (Barchie centric) episode.

Finally this episode give KJ Apa some space to show off. The focus shifted from his affair with Mrs Grundy and let the friction between him and his dad rise cause of his musical aspirations. The friction between Archi and his dad is a really neat story, we get to see more of both characters and understand who they are at the moments. The story also touches upon some stereotypes and crushes them in the process. This turn of events finally gave Josie some space to shine and she used every single second to make a lasting impression. The lack of Josie in the first two outings was annoying, but episode three delivers and gives us strong insight into her character, her motivations and her the tremendous voice. Ashleigh Murray killed it such a great voice. Hopefully, this latest song will get a full version posted online. Also it was nice to see the other Pussycats talk.

Meanwhile, our favorite female Riverdale residents, Betty and Veronica enter a new deviously hellish adventure after Chuck, the football team captain slut shames Veronica. After a seemingly harmless date, Chuck tries to slut shame Veronica and our girl ain't taking it. This adventure involves busting the boy's locker room, Stranger Things actress Shannon Purser as Ethel, Kevin and Cheryl and a nasty Playbook. And this adventure takes a truly dark turn when Betty takes over control, FULL DARK NO STARS!

A really pleasant surprise this week were the parents. I enjoyed every single one of them. I'm just a bit freaked out by Cheryl's parents, I get they are emotionally distraught but they are a creepy bunch.

I hope you enjoyed the read and will tune in on Thursday 9/8 central to check out a new episode of Riverdale on The CW. Meanwhile, feel free to share your thoughts on the show so far and hopes for this week's episode in the comment section.
