Girls - All I Ever Wanted - Advance Preview
Feb 6, 2017
Girls Reviews ROThe Girls are coming back ! Girls sixth and final season is coming, next Sunday on HBO with "All I Ever Wanted", a special 40 minutes episode directed by Lena Dunham, and writing by Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner.
I can’t believe Girls is already coming to an end, and yet on the other hand, I can’t believe either it has first aired six years ago. I was 24, and I remember exactly when I first watched it. It was so surprising and so different, I fell in love instantly with those characters. And after five seasons, my feelings haven’t changed.
Girls is a unique show thanks to Dunham’s extraordinary ability to analyze our modern society through our different relationships and to put it on camera. Girls is really an experience, in my opinion, it’s raw, it’s real, it’s fun and it’s also twisted. So, after six year, the girls, Hannah, Marnie, Sosh and Jessa have grown so much, and we have followed them through all those changes and experiences over the years, on their journeys, but it’s all coming to an end, and of course there will be new journeys for them.
"All I Ever Wanted" will mainly focus on Hannah, as usual, but I never mind it. She will be headed to a Surf Camp, as a writing assignment, and she'll meet with Paul Louis (Riz Ahmed) while the girls and their boyfriends will deal with apartment issues when Marnie asks Ray to sped more time at his place, where Adam lives with Jessa. Roommates troubles are coming.
Last season, Hannah finally learnt about Jessa and Adam being together, and as the season begins, she will have dealt with that in a very Hannah way. That will show how much she has grown over the years. There might be a new Hannah this season on Girls. And here’s a list of what else you can expect from "All I Ever Wanted" :
- There will be a beautiful sequence where we will see each character's reaction to a special event. It’ll be a very emotional moment. It might be the best episode opening ever, and the music is great.
- Someone will be seen on the toilets. And no, it’s not Hannah.
- Hannah’s parents will briefly appear.
- Jessa and Adam can not control themselves in public, and it still surprises me.
- Elijah will ask Hannah’s permission to organize an orgy at their apartment, and her reaction and one of the girls will be hilarious.
- There will be a little drama over a swimsuit.
- One of the girls will be recruited for her look.
- There will be talk about "sun in the pussy" and how it can make you glow. And one of the girls will actually try it.
- Marnie and Elijah will disagree about something and their bickering will be quite funny.
- Hannah will make a special sexy and dirty dance, and another character will demonstrate some surprising (and actually kind of hot) talent.
- Sosh will share a very sweet and cute scene with another character.
- Someone will hurt his/her forearm.
- "All I Ever Wanted" will have a lighter and more peaceful pace than usual.
- There will be an awkward and realistic sex scene.
- Someone will mention Hannah’s pubic hair and her reaction will be priceless.
- Someone will use "breathe taking" for the first time.
- Because of her divorce, Marnie will question her future as an artist. But she’ll receive an unexpected very sweet declaration.
"All I Ever Wanted"will definitely be a remarkable season premiere, resolving and continuing last season storylines and also introducing new ones. Dunham is such a talent writer, writing with so much realism and reflection. One of Lena Dunham skills is her ability to write amazing secondary characters, and to find those actors talented enough to pull it off with only a few scenes, as Catherine LeFrere and of course Riz Ahmed in this episode.
