Katrina: American Crime Story is coming into focus. FX's big follow to 2016 phenomenon and awards magnet The People v. O.J. Simpson has added its first new cast member — Annette Bening.
The four-time Oscar-nominated actress joins Ryan Murphy's upcoming anthology installment as former Louisiana governor Kathleen Blanco. This sheds some light on how the Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions series plans to tackle Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. Bening joins Murphy repertory players Courtney B. Vance, Sarah Paulson and Cuba Gooding Jr., all of whom appeared in O.J.
Despite all of the heat around Katrina, following nine Emmy wins and a FX best 13.9 million viewers per episode for O.J., the project won't actually debut until 2018
