The Disney-owned network has handed out a pilot order to drama The Gospel of Kevin, from to Agent Carter's Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The Gospel of Kevin stems from a pod deal that longtime writing duo Fazekas and Butters inked a few years ago with ABC Studios. The project is described as a light hourlong show about Kevin, a down-on-his-luck man who is tasked by God with a mission to save the world.
The drama brings Fazekas and Butters back to ABC following Marvel's critical darling Agent Carter and Resurrection, both of which ran for two seasons apiece.
Gospel of Kevin marks ABC Studios' leading eighth pilot order of the season — with seven of them coming from corporate sibling ABC as the network continues to vertically align itself.
