Back to Black
I can't believe we have only two episodes left! And this is, somehow, getting better every week! I'll be so sad to see it go, I guess I'll keep hoping for a miracle. Lets get into this amazing episode that might be the beginning of the end.
Brandon and Harris have a plan to catch the vigilante, they write a new name on the wall, someone they know fits the profile, Brady Teller, and they wait for the vigilante to show up. Barton even meets with Brady he offers to protect him and gives him a panic button. I love having Barton in the story even if he's a problem for our heroine's, he's so funny.
Barton: It was my mother's "I've fallen and can't get up" button to use in case of emergency, but then she started pressing it every time she wanted me to massage her feet.
Jules walks in on Ophelia and Evan "reconnecting" and Evan gets his clothes fro various corners of the apartment before leaving. Jules says she's better, she's going to group and she's fine with not seeing the Zeta's, since they remind her of Nate. After that, Ophelia shows Jules the live feed of the wall where they see the new name and decide they have a new take-down in their future.
Jules tells Ophelia that she's going to group but she's actually working the case alone and she goes through Brady's stuff, she finds keepsakes and pictures he keeps from his victims. This guy might be the worst one yet.
Harris: Hello there, it's nice to see your face detached from Evan's.
Harris and Ophelia are at vinylton talking abou how they used to diss realtionship and now they're both happy. Fiona arrives and invites them to the Bacchanal party, where all the frat houses mix. Harris says he's too good for that but Ophelia realizes it's a good opportunity to bet Brady, she's trying to be both girlfriend and Batman (which is bound to get complicated) so she invites Evan too, but he says he has to go to the aquarium to watch "turtles in heat". They're so weird and cute! I don't think I'll ever get tired of saying it.
Evan: You're going to a party on Greek Row on purpose?
Ophelia: Yeah, it's a social experiment. I want to see how long I can be around frat boys before I try to kill myself.
Evan:I'm sorry I have to miss it.
But he sees she's disapointed, so he gets another R.A. to cover for him and shows up last minute. Jules is angry, she says Ophelia can't do both at the same time, which is a bit hypocritical, since Jules was always the one trying to live two completely different lives. O promises it will be fine and they go together.
Nate keeps trying to apologize to Kennedy, since he's worried about showing up to the Bacchanal alone (such a douche), so Miles says he'll use his chick-flick knowledge to help him. Kennedy had decided to stay in, but Nate shows up to invite her to the party Love-Actually style, and it works.
Tyler was looking for Jules everywhere so he goes to Vinylton and finds Harris regretting his desition not to go to the party, so they both decide to go together. But, when they get there, Tyler sees Jules flirting with Brady for bait and he tries to get back at her by flirting with other girls.
Ophelia tries to keep up with both her boyfriend and her partner, but it prooves difficult and she ends up ditching him when things get complicated. First, Kennedy and Nate arrive hand in hand, which is disappointing, then she realizes Jules has been working alone and reprimends her for it, and then they see Brady is about to get a new victim. So, when Jenny steps away for a minute they give her some water, grab her phone saying they're calling her a car and text Brady to meet them in his room.
He manages to push the panic button but, by the time Barton gets there, there's only a note next to the button that reads "Nice try, sucker". They beat the hell out of Brady in another room but Jules goes too far. Ophelia tries to stop her, she tells her that drarkness will only grow and she won't get better, but Jules says those are the only moments when she feels alive.
Ophelia: I wish I could fix you. I wish I could take away your pain, and reverse everything that happened to you, but I can't. But I can tell you that I'm scared, and I just want you to be better.
Jules says she never needed her, tat she's just a poor little rich kid trying to fix her. She says she invaded her life like a disease and she's a mistake. Ophelia is really hurt, she says if Jules wants to be angry and alone that's fine by her, and then she calls 911. The next morning she wakes up at a couch and gets a thousend texts from Evan. There's a hilarious interaction between her and Tyler when he points out she has a condom suck in her hair, and he takes it out with a beer bottle. She comes home to find Jules gone and she goes to Kennedy for help, she says she can't help Jules but Kennedy can.
Ophelia: I know that you know what happened between Nate and Jules. You saw the change in her after that night. Somewhere, deep down, beneath the "yass girls" and the "Zeta realness", you know the truth, and it terrifies you.
Kennedy seems to continue to be in denial, because she's hanging out with Nate as if nothing ever happened. But then, he tries to force himself on her, and when she stops him, he throws something against the door and yells at her. He realizes he screwed up and apologies, but she's onto him, she pretends everything's fine but then she goes to the library wheere she knows she'll find Jules.
She apologizes for not being there for her, for not seeing the thruth and she says she can't imagine what she's been through. Aisha Dee killed it in this scene. She says Jules nedds to report him, no matter who Nate Griffin is, and they make up.
Kennedy: You deserve to be heard, and you will be heard. The school can't just hide their heads in the sand. You're a person. You're my person. And we are gonna fight this.
The episode ends with Harris confronting Ophelia after finding the live feed of the bathroom wall.
I'm excited for all these secrets that are finally coming out, I'm excited for the storylines to get moving, and I'm excited for all this show will have to offer until its finale. I can't say enough how good this is, how amazing these actresses are, and how much this story needs to be told. Hopefully, the right people will realize this too.
What did you guys think of this episode? Are you as excited as I am to see the conclusion? How do you think it will all turn out? I'd love to read your thoughts and I leave you with a "best scene" poll.
