Suits - "She's Gone" - Advance Preview: Mending Fences

"She's Gone" picks up just a few hours after the last shot we watched. It deals with the ramifications of Jessica leaving, and paints the picture of new loyalties been forged, new and old dynamics changing, and the general theme of the back 6 episodes of season 6: Family,

To put it simply, the Midseason Premiere is one of the best episodes of season 6 so far, in terms of characters' evolution. It gives the viewer a nice idea of how the rest of the season will be mapped out, and how the dynamics might shift.

Mike needs to deal with life out of prison and the ramifications of his crime, as so does Harvey and Rachel mainly. Donna as usual, is the voice of conscience and knows things before they happen or people actually talk about them and Louis is focused on getting the firm back together, with some trouble along the way he's helped by Gretchen (Aloma Wright does an spectacular job in this episode) and a surprise guest star that a lot of people will be really happy to see.

Talking about guest stars, there are more than a few, and they all have great lines and excellent performances. This episode is dialogue heavy, going back to older seasons when the action was lead by what the characters say and how they explain their feelings. It surprised me that the lighting and cinematography has changed quite a lot, from the gloomy blue tones that were distinct in season 6A, it moves on to a more soft and warmer lighting. Together with the plot it gives the feeling of a cycle coming to an end, some conflicts were solved, and now is time for other plot lines to find its closure, and as the law of cause and effect, it will mean new problems and new solutions. The credit of part of this episode aesthetic is for Patrick J Adams, who gives a particular touch to camera movements and lens flares that help how emotionally compromised you get in some scenes. (And it's really breath taking to see)

Overall is a good episode that brings out emotions and you find yourself not wanting to miss a word spoken or even blinking because of the fast pace it has.

Rating: A

A Few Quotes from the Episode: (Guess who said what)
- "We don't need your charity"
- "What grocery store are you planning on knocking over?"
- "You need to work on your code name for me, because it's way too obvious"
- "Enough is Enough"
