SpoilerTV has heard from sources that the pilot is set to begin production in March 2017 in South Africa.
Here is some information about the various characters in the show.
Cooper - Fable's brother. The older sibling. Known as 'Coop' to his friends. Developed a search algorithm which can locate anyone at any time, anywhere which put him on the FBI's radar. Has a phobia of the ocean after his parents were lost. Doesn't believe in monsters.
Fable - Just had her 18th birthday. Cooper's Sister. Known as 'Fae' to her friends. The younger sibling. Has a history of trouble and was sent to juvie for 2 years. No one believed that she saw a Grindylow the night her parents were considered lost. Believes in monsters.
Zin - Real name: Paul Shepherd. 27 years old. Can pilot anything. When he was 7, his father disappeared. Confused, lost and angry at life. He grabs onto hope wherever he can. Shares a connection with Fae over the loss of family.
Juniper - Fae's cellmate from juvie. A skilled thief. Cares for and loves Fae like a sister.
Bosch - A friend of Fae and Coop's parents. Was on the boat when they were lost at sea. Believes Fae has an overactive imagination.
Raff - Fable and Cooper's uncle. Runs a tech company with Cooper until Fae receives control of 33% on her 18th birthday. Had Fae sent to juvie against her will.

Casting sites have begun listing The CW's Searchers. It appears they've stealth ordered the pilot and casting is in progress. We'll update when the CW makes it official.

Searchers is about a group of unlikely heroes who find themselves on the journey of a lifetime.
