NOTE: The opinions expressed here are NOT those of SpoilerTV but of the Author of this Article, Marc Berman.

    -Winners:
    “NCIS” (CBS), “Bull” (CBS)

    -Honorable Mention:
“The Middle” (ABC), “The Wall” (NBC), “Chicago Fire” (NBC), “Chicago PD” (NBC)

    -Losers (excluding repeats):
“New Girl” (Fox), “Bones” (Fox), “The Real O’Neals” (ABC), “No Tomorrow” (CW)

    Ratings Breakdown:
It was a typically easy Tuesday overnight household victory for CBS, which featured the regularly scheduled combination of “NCIS” (9.7 rating/15 share), “Bull” (7.2/11) and “NCIS: Los Angeles” (6.1/11). The three dramas finished first in households in each of the six half-hours.

NBC got some promising news care of the Tuesday 8 p.m. time period debut of game show “The Wall,” which at a second-place 4.1/ 7 jumped by 32 percent from the 3.1 household rating for the prior night’s 10 p.m. preview. Comparably, “The Wall” should be competitive in the hour in adults 18-49 (and all the key demos).

“The Wall” led into the crossover of “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago PD,” which “Chicago Fire” rising to a 4.8/ 8 at 9 p.m., building from the 8:30 p.m. portion of “The Wall” (4.3/ 7) by 12 percent. “Chicago PD” matched the overnight performance of “Chicago Fire,” also with a 4.8/ 8 (#2) at 10 p.m. Given the stability of the franchise, keep a positive eye (or two) on upcoming “Chicago Law” in midseason.

The second time period premiere last night was Fox sitcom “The Mick,” which scored a 2.3/ 4 (#2) at 8:30 p.m., building from relocated lead-in “New Girl” (#4: 1.8/ 3 at 8 p.m.) by 28 percent. Year-ago time period occupant “Grandfathered” scored a similar 2.2/ 3 at 8:30 p.m. The 12th, and final, season of “Bones” was stalled at the gate, with a 2.3/ 4 at 9 p.m. Historically, “Bones” could very well make the record books with the most number of different time periods than any other series.

ABC featured its two-hour sitcom rotation from 8-10 p.m.: “The Middle” (#2: 4.5/ 7), “American Housewife” (#3: 3.6/ 6), “Fresh Off the Boat” (#3: 2.9/ 5) and “The Real O’Neals” (#3t, 2.2/ 4). The weak link remains sophomore “The Real O’Neals.” And an encore telecast of special “David Blaine’s Magic” capped off the night with a 1.6/ 3 at 10 p.m.

The CW featured a repeat of “The Flash” (#5: 0.7/ 1) into a mere 0.4/ 1 for another burn-off installment of freshman drama “No Tomorrow,” which has clearly earned its cancellation stripes.
