The network has picked up two drama pilots — Alan Cumming starrer Killer Instinct as well as Perfect Citizen, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Killer Instinct (formerly known as Dr. Death) stars in the adaptation of James Patterson's forthcoming novel as a former CIA operative who has since built a "normal" life as a gifted professor and writer who is pulled back into his old life when the NYPD needs his help to stop a serial killer on the loose.
Perfect Citizen, meanwhile, also reteams the network and studio Craig Turk, a former attorney-turned Good Wife exec producer. The drama revolves around the former General counsel for the NSA who, after his involvement as a whistleblower in an international scandal, embarks on a new career at a storied law firm in Boston. There, he faces the reality that while half the country thinks he's our greatest patriot, the other half thinks he's a traitor. Turk will pen the script and exec produce for CBS Television Studios, where his Thinking Hat Productions is under an overall deal.
