BK Reviews The RoyalsHey Loyals!
Sorry for the late reviews on the last two episodes but the current exam season has got me swamped with work! Thankfully, I can finally sit down to binge my guilty pleasure, The Royals. I’m not goanna focus too much on the previous episode besides highlight some major points.
Passing Through Nature to Eternity
Helena finally outwits Cyrus and gets ahold of his DNA. Rather fitting that it happened to be another thing Cyrus lost. I love the fact that Cyrus is not going to down without a fight and this is expected of him. However he’s met a worthy opponent in Helena, so this should make for some interesting one-liners between the two in their battle for the throne.
Eleanor and Jasper are still playing games, as they both don’t think they are worthy of one another. After Liam knocks some sense into both of them, they both agree that they can make it work. A nice romantic touch with the letters, hopefully we will see a continuation of that throughout the season.
Liam on the other hand is still feeling pretty guilty, but it doesn’t seem to be for Ted’s death anymore? It seems to be about a girl, the blonde girl perhaps? Len tells him it’s time to let himself be happy.
Robert is struggling with the decision to come home or not. He has the skills and resources to do so. It’s only a matter of when he will. It’s not the vision of his family members, who encourage him to home, but a vision of a girl. Viewers do not actually get to the see the face of the girl until the very last minute. Oh guess what? In a predictable plot twist, she’s also the girl that Liam has coincidentally fallen into bed with. This should make the rivalry between the brothers even more interesting when Robert returns home.
Aye, There's the Rub:
As I mentioned earlier, my review this week is going to focus more on this week’s episode, since it is still fresh in our minds.
The episode begins with the backstory to how Liam and Robert met Kathryn (yes I'm gonna call her by her real name now). It’s obvious that the two had a connection from the start. Also it is very apparent that Robert sort of envies his brother. He claims it is because of his freedom, but I have feeling it has more to do with Liam’s charm.
Helena was feeling quite under the weather and the Lord Chamberlain stepped into take her of her. It was quite cute of Helena to allow someone else to look after her for once. I’m excited to see where they take this romance. Helena doesn’t have a lot of luck in the love department, so hopefully this one sticks.
James was busy writing love letters for Eleanor and Jasper. Glad "Jaspenor" both caught one another in the act. James’s daughter also made many appearances throughout the episode and finally stated the reason she had been following Eleanor was, because she didn’t feel she was like the Princesses in the books/movies she sees. She’s right Eleanor isn’t your typical princess, but that’s what makes her so great. She’s willing to bend the rules and stand her ground! If you ask me (minus the drugs/alcohol), she’s a Princess I would strive to be. Also Jasper’s speech about Eleanor’s brought a smile to my face. These two seem too happy if you ask me, I’m sure Robert coming back will send Eleanor on a binge. I’m just hoping Jasper keeps his promise of never giving up on her.
We finally have the results of the DNA test and yes the twins are Simon’s. Not that shocking, considering that we know Robert is on his way home. It was a touching moment, seeing that Helena finally approves on Liam being King. Not only will Liam have to fight his brother for the girl, but now the throne.
The last moments of the episode cut back and forth between Helena, Eleanor, and Robert. He’s back! Honestly we didn’t get to know much about him when he was stranded on the beach, but from Liam's flashbacks I have a feeling that Cyrus won’t be our main villain this season.
Side Notes:
-Loved the cameo from Elizabeth Hurley’s real life son.
-Cyrus needs to get over Violet or can the show bring her back already!
-Can we get rid of Jasper’s fake accent? It’s too much to keep up with.
-Willow’s annoying. I’m completely shipping Kathryn and Liam.
-Maybe Robert can go with Willow or Kathryn’s sister?
What were your thoughts on both this episodes? Comment below!
Also I just want to mention that my reviews for the next two episodes (Both airing on Jan 1st) are also going to be delayed due to the holidays, but I will post them as soon as I can. Once the New Year begins I will be back to posting on a regular basis!
