Mido Hamada (Emerald City) is set as a series regular and Kenneth Choi (American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson) will recur on Counterpart, Starz’s upcoming straight-to-series drama from MRC, Gilbert Films and Anonymous Content.
Described as an espionage thriller with a metaphysical twist, Counterpart is the story of Howard Silk (JK Simmons), a lowly cog in a bureaucratic agency, who discovers that the agency he works for is really guarding a crossing into a parallel dimension. Through Howard and his “Counterpart” on the other side, the show will navigate themes of identity, what ifs, and lost love.
Hamada will play Cyrus, an officer in Counterintelligence who serves as Aldrich’s (Ulrich Thomsen) right hand man. Cyrus values loyalty above all else, but will soon find that loyalty tested. Choi will portray Bob Dwyer, a director in strategy within the OI, he serves as the checks and balances for the operatives that work under him.
