Black-ish, The Goldbergs, Speechless, Fresh Off The Boat, The Middle and American Housewife: have received orders for additional episodes, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Black-ish and The Goldbergs have been picked up for two more episodes, bringing their season totals to 24 episodes each. The latter four have each received orders for one more episode each, bringing their respective season totals to 23 episodes.
The pickups follow a strong start for ABC's half-hour slate, which expanded this fall to a two-hour block on Tuesdays in addition to Wednesday's two-hour block. For Black-ish, the pickup also comes after the third-year comedy earned its first Golden Globe nominations, for best comedy series and best actor and actress in a comedy series for Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross.
