The Walking Dead - The Cell - Advance Preview
Nov 5, 2016
Reviews RO The Walking DeadWelcome back walker fans ! I’m thrilled to be back and to have the chance to keep covering The Walking Dead for this new season !
After two excellent episodes, both different from The Walking Dead standards, this Sunday on AMC, The Walking Dead will continue its seventh season with its third episode titled "The Cell", another exciting and captivating episode.
I must confess, I didn’t really like the season premiere two weeks ago. It wasn’t because of the gruesome violence of Glenn and Abraham’s deaths but more because of that stupid cliffhanger, I’m still not over it. In my opinion, those deaths would have been stronger if they happened at the end of last season. The long summer wait (plus the 20 minutes wait in the episode), kinda disconnect me from the emotional impact those deaths should have had. I would have been more shocked and traumatized (clearly they wanted us to feel that) and I would have still understood Rick’s breakdown afterwards, if that had happened in last April.
Anyways, "The Well" last week was far much better, it was so refreshing to explore the Kingdom and King Ezekiel. It had been a very long time since a place, people, represent hope in The Walking Dead universe and finally that place and those characters delivered a hopeful and optimistic message. It was even more powerful because Carol and Morgan were the ones to receive that message.
This week episode, "The Cell", will mainly focus on Daryl since he had been taken away from his group by Negan and also on Dwight, since he has a prior connection with Daryl. Their interactions will be quite entertaining and very informative. We will learn a lot more about the Saviors in this episode, how they live, their routines and also their rules.
But also, Dwight will shed some light on his past, and that will make him more understandable as a character. His choices are still questionable but at least, he’ll give a solid reason for his acts.
And here are some other teasers about "The Cell" :
- You will be surprised by this week’s episode soundtrack. It’ll be unsettling.
- Someone will reveal to be married.
- Someone will mention Dwight penis injury from last season.
- Negan will be back, always whistling and with Lucille in one hand. He will make another powerful and scary monologue.
- Daryl’s crossbow will be back ! How soon until Daryl take it back ?!
- There will be some pretty disgusting walkers. Even after seven years, The Walking Dead can always pull off some horrifying zombie situations (Yeah as seen in the promo, a walker will fall from the sky, literally.)
- Dwight will have an intense and tragic discussion with another survivor, about how life is now and how it is to live under Negan’s thumb.
- There will be a pregnancy test, and we won’t wait to find out the result.
- Someone will give Daryl three choices…
- Dwight will be sent on a special mission, on the roads.
- Negan will play one his games, called "Who are you".
- We will learn more about Negan and Dwight history, how they met and how their relationship first started.
- The Saviors will play games on Daryl, tricks, manipulation and some also surprising torture techniques to test him and understand him. Are they trying to break him ?
"The Cell" is another excellent episode of The Walking Dead, quite different from the two first episodes of the season and that is the strength of the show. Gimple found the perfect pace, focusing each episode on some characters and what is even better this year is the different rhythm and atmosphere in each episode.
Don’t miss "The Cell" this Sunday on AMC and next Monday on FOX in the UK. How excited are you about "The Cell" ? How Daryl will react to Dwight and Negan ? What’s Negan plan for Daryl ? What happened between Dwight and Negan ? Hit the comments !
And finally the quotes game ! Guess which characters will say those quotes (a character can have 2 quotes max)
1- "Are we pissing our pants yet ?"
2- "Yeah, I know."
3- "Maybe next time."
4- "When you’re bad, it’ll be worse."
5- "You earn what you take."
6- "I get why you did it."
7- "Don’t talk about her !"
