Ten Days in the Valley - Erika Christensen, Felix Solis and Kick Gurry Join ABC Drama

Parenthood alumna Erika Christensen is set to co-star opposite Kyra Sedgwick in ABC’s straight-to-series drama Ten Days in the Valley. Also cast in the project, from Tassie Cameron (Rookie Blue) and Skydance Television, are Felix Solis (The Good Wife, Colony) and Aussie actor Kick Gurry (Jupiter Ascending).

Ten Days in the Valley stars Sedgwick as Jane Sadler, an overworked television producer and single mother in the middle of a fractious separation. When her young daughter goes missing in the middle of the night, Jane’s world — and her controversial police series — implodes. Life imitates art: everything’s a mystery, everyone has a secret, and no one can be trusted.

Christensen will play Ali, Jane’s younger, bossier sister, a capable and pragmatic psychologist who is currently undergoing fertility treatments with her journalist husband, Tom. When she learns her beloved niece has gone missing, Ali rushes to Jane’s side to take charge. While Ali is a rock of stability and support during Jane’s ongoing ordeal, she can’t help but question many of Jane’s choices. Struggling with the hormonal effects of her fertility drugs and her less-than-perfect marriage, Ali is going to have to work hard to prevent her own resentment and issues from bubbling to the surface.

Solis will portray David Gomez, who presides over the important LAPD Detective Bureau with the decisiveness and confidence of an oligarch. Gomez is out to clean up the force’s bad reputation, which means he has a low opinion of TV cop shows and those who write them. He might want some quid pro quo from Jane in exchange for his department’s cooperation.

Gurry is Pete, a charismatic, unpredictable music producer who is Jane’s ex and the father of her 8-year-old daughter, Lake. A recovering heroin addict, Pete’s always been a risk-taker, and has been a disruptive influence in Jane and Lake’s lives throughout his rocky, year-long recovery. Jane currently has primary custody of their daughter – but now that he’s four months sober, Pete is desperate for that to change and is very quick to judge his ex on all her failings. When Lake goes missing, Pete is the obvious suspect but this righteous, reformed father appears to have an iron-clad alibi for the night of the abduction.

Cameron serves as writer/showrunner of the series, which she executive produces with Sedgwick, Jill Littman and Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross. Ten Days will go into production next year.
