The analysis below is based on the early household numbers and are NOT the same as the numbers that will be posted in the above table later. (See the About section below)

NOTE: The opinions expressed here are NOT those of SpoilerTV but of the Author of this Article, Marc Berman.

    -Winners:
“NCIS” (CBS), “Dancing With the Stars” (ABC), “The Voice” (NBC), “The Flash” (CW), “This Is Us” (NBC), “Bull” (CBS)

    -Losers:
“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (Fox), “New Girl” (Fox), “Scream Queens” (Fox), “No Tomorrow” (CW)

    -Ratings Breakdown:
It was another Tuesday household overnight victory for CBS (despite facing the fall season-finale of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars”) care of “NCIS” (#1 for the night: 9.1 rating/15 share), “Bull” (#2: 6.8/11) and “NCIS: New Orleans” (#2: 5.4/ 9).

The “Dancing With the Stars” season-ender, featuring the well-deserved victory of Laurie Hernandez, scored a dominant 7.5/12 from 9-11 p.m., building from sitcom “American Housewife” (#3: 4.0/ 6 at 8:30 p.m.) by 87 percent. The year-ago fall season-finale of “Dancing With the Stars” averaged an 8.7/14 in the household overnights (which translated into 13.49 million viewers and a 2.4 rating/8 share in adults 18-49, based on the Live + Same Day data). The positive news for “American Housewife” is the strong ongoing compatibility out of relocated lead-in “The Middle” (#3: 4.5/ 8 at 8 p.m.).
On NBC, freshman drama “This Is Us” remains the real deal, with a third-place 5.9/ 9 in the household overnights at 9 p.m. out of a 6.0/10 for lead-in “The Voice” at 8 p.m. Unfortunately, we only get 18 episodes of “This Is Us” in this first season, but count only many additional seasons ahead.

“Chicago Fire” capped off the night for NBC with a third-place 4.0/ 7 at 10 p.m.

Elsewhere, “The Flash” at a 2.2/ 4 in the household overnights at 8 p.m. remains The CW’s highest rated series. But freshman lead-out “No Tomorrow” earned its walking papers with a mere 0.6/ 1 from 9-10 p.m. Fox, meanwhile, was off the charts with its combination of comedies “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (#5: 1.5/ 3) and “New Girl” (#5: 1.3/ 2) and sophomore anthology “Scream Queens” (#4: 0.8/ 1). Note to Fox: it is time to let “New Girl” go.
