The analysis below is based on the early household numbers and are NOT the same as the numbers that will be posted in the above table later. (See the About section below)

NOTE: The opinions expressed here are NOT those of SpoilerTV but of the Author of this Article, Marc Berman.

    Ratings Breakdown:
“The 2016 American Music Awards” lost noticeable steam, with a 5.4 rating/8 share in the household overnights last night down by 28 percent from the 7.5/12 on the year-ago evening. That 7.5 rating in the overnights translated into 11.01 million viewers and a 3.5 rating/11 share in adults 18-49, based on the Live + Same Day data.

Earlier in the evening on ABC was veteran “America’s Funniest Home Videos” at a 3.8/ 7 (#2) in the 7 p.m. hour.

Tops for the night was the Green Bay Packers at the Washington Redskins on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” at a 11.9/19 in the household overnights from 8:30-11:45 p.m.

Elsewhere, CBS got a significant lift for the evening with a 14.6/24 in the 7 p.m. half-hour for an NFL football overrun. That led into an 11.5/18 for granddaddy “60 Minutes” from 7:30-8:30 p.m., followed by “NCIS” (#2: 7.7/12 from 8:30-9:30 p.m.), “Madam Secretary” (#2: 6.4/10 from 9:30-10:30 p.m.) and the first half of “Elementary” (#2t: 4.7/ 8 at 10:30 p.m.). Individual program results for CBS are approximate due to the football overrun.

Fox, meanwhile, could not compete with its line-up of a repeat of “The Simpsons” (2.2/ 4), “Bob’s Burgers” (1.5/ 2), the regular installment of “The Simpsons” (1.8/ 3), “Son of Zorn” (1.8/ 3) and “The Last Man on Earth” (1.3/ 2). The network finished a distant fourth in each of the six half-hours.
