Epic. That is the only word that does any element of justice to this episode of Lucifer. Viewers will be left stunned and awestruck. While there have been some big episodes in this first half of the season none have been as poised as this one to cause grand change. Chloe’s fate is quickly revealed following the cliffhanger that concluded the prior episode. Though, I think it goes without saying that the biggest surprise here is the identity of who shows up to aid her.
Due to the grand nature of this episode, this preview will be very vague to avoid giving anything major away, but here are a few teases that I think are safe to divulge. At least two new working partnerships are formed, while one is expected the other is quite surprising. In both instances, the results of these unusual team-ups have vast reaching impacts. While these new teams are coming together there is at least one former team that may never be the same again as one big betrayal threatens to forever divide them. Dr. Linda is kept quite busy trying to advise her troubled celestial friends. There is also one very cool fight sequence that is both technically awesome looking and hilarious in nature. And past actions come back to haunt several characters in unexpected ways.
This is the sort of episode that doesn’t waste a single second of airtime. The case of the week is directly and immediately tied to the main story as the team works to help one of their own. The beginning is unexpected, the middle has powerful character interactions, and the end is downright astonishing with at least one huge bombshell dropped. Never before has a single episode impacted as many characters as this one does. At least half of the main cast of characters experiences some major life altering moment before this episode draws to an unexpected ending. Here is one big tease to leave you pondering until Monday; there is a question we’ve all been asking since the start of the series that very well might just get answered to a certain degree.
The last several minutes are the very definition of epic and lead to yet another cliffhanger. These critical minutes morally challenge several characters. While this is a big ending, it’s not as climactic as some of the recent cliffhangers, but the repercussions might be even bigger than our mere human brains can comprehend. I won’t risk spoiling this ending by saying who is involved or the context of the scene, because it would be irresponsible of me to deny all of you the right to see it with fresh unsuspecting eyes. This is one ending that viewers will be talking about for a long time to come.
Under no circumstances should you miss this episode when it airs this Monday, November 28th at 9/8C on FOX. If for any reason you miss this episode and don’t want to be spoiled I highly recommend avoiding social media, because mark my words, this is an episode that will have social media alight with discussions about it.
Here are some quotes to tide you over until Monday:
“Well, that was anticlimactic.”
“You’re avoiding the truth, also known as lying.
“This is the worst thing that can be happening right now.”
“Apologize your ass off, or next time she might blow that up.”
“I didn’t think you had it in you. I’m impressed.”
Happy Thanksgiving to all of my fellow American Lucifer fans! Indulge on great food and enjoy the company of friends and family.
