Academy and Golden Globe Award-winning actress Marlee Matlin will guest star on CODE BLACK, Wednesday, Dec. 7 (10:00-11:00PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. In the episode, Matlin appears as Kathy Byrne, a deaf patient who arrives at Angels Memorial with her translator after their car rolls over into the L.A. River.
Matlin received worldwide acclaim for her film debut in “Children of a Lesser God,” for which she received both an Academy Award for Best Actress and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Drama. Her feature film credits include “Walker,” “The Player,” “It’s My Party” and “What the Bleep Do We Know.” Matlin’s television movie credits include “Bridge to Silence,” “Against Her Will: The Carrie Buck Story,” “Dead Silence,” “Where the Truth Lies” and “Sweet Nothing in my Ear.” She has starred in the television series “Switched at Birth,” “Reasonable Doubts,” “The L Word” and “The West Wing,” and has made guest appearances on “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “CSI: New York,” both on the Network, as well as “ER,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Seinfeld,” “Picket Fences,” “The Practice,” “Law and Order: SVU,” “Glee,” “Cosmos” and “Family Guy.” Also, Matlin starred on “Dancing with the Stars” and made her Broadway debut in the revival of “Spring Awakening,” which garnered three Tony Nominations.
