The Final Entries: The Vampire Diaries . . . Best romantic moments so far

Dear Me: If you're reading this, then someone spilled the beans about your selective memory loss. My money's on Caroline. Yes, you loved Damon. You loved him with a passion that consumed you, and then when Damon died, the void he filled was too deep. Too dark. Facing an eternity without your soul-mate, you went off the deep end. You turned into someone that you weren't: a monster. Alaric can restore your lost memories. All you have to do is ask. But, I hope that you don't. I tried it the other way, and... I didn't see an end to the pain. I want you to rediscover yourself, in the absence of the one that defined you. If you feel any hope for the future at all, then you're already better off. You've been given a chance to start over. I want you to take it. I want you to be happy.

And here we are! The end of the journey, the last stop on memory lane. We are 7 days away from The Vampire Diaries' premiering their eight and final season. So before we embark on this so far promising journey I've decided to take you on a trip down memory lane. So far we've covered Best Songs and Best Twists the previous two weeks and today we get to my favorite part of the Vampire Diaries, Best Romantic Moments! I don't mean the messy love triangle stuff, I mean the simple loved induced scenes that made our eyes tear up and knees shaking. As already said in the previous two outings, this is totally based on my personal preffrences so if one of your favorite moments isn't listed feel free to share it in the comment section.

Elena and Stefan talk for the first time, 1x01 "Pilot"

This certainly isn't the most romantic moment out there. But this is where all of it started. Elena's chemistry with the Salvatore brothers was the foundation of the show and the initial spark born in this moment in this scene paved the way for all the phenomenal moments that followed. I've never imagined that a scene on a graveyard can be so longing and spark-filled. Elena was totally smitten and Stefan's smile was worth a million dollars. The lines were simple not over the top just a perfect meet cute which would turn into one of my favorite love stories ever.

Bonnie and Enzo dance on New Years Eve, Episode 7x19 "Somebody That I Used To Knoe

Benzo was probably one of the biggest surprises of season 7 and despite me not being Enzo's biggest fan I have to say the boy is smooth. When Enzo cares you know it, he doesn't hesitate showing it. The slow build up towards him and Bonnie getting to realtionship status was really paying of and this dinner/dance scene was so well executed. I was torn between choosing this one and the one where he thought her to play guitar, but Bonnie's resiliance towards letting herslef or Enzo know she cared gave the scene a special spark making it a moment to remember.

Damon dying in Elena's arms, confesses his love and they kiss, Episode 2x22 "As I lay Dying"

I never ever doubted Damon would die, still the performance displayed by Ian and Nina in this particular scene was everything and more. The sensuality and tone of this scene carried by the perfect lines written by VD's writer trio (Turi Meyer & Al Septien & Michael Narducci) made this a great scene that still makes my heart skip a beat.

Klaus telling Caroline "He intends to be her last love", Episode 4x23 "Graduation"

There isn't much to tell here, cause when a guy tells you he intends to be your last he either loves you more than anything or he has a knife stashed behind his back and it is time to run. Of course, we are witnessing the first case scenario in this scene and Klaus is once again swooping the rug under Caroline's feet. People can hate on the ship as much as they want but one thing is certain those two have chemistry. The tension and energy consuming their scenes is undeniable and deserved to be mentioned here.

Stefan enters Caroline's mind while she gives birth to the twins, Episode 7x13 "The day I tried to live"

I don't think that out there is a better boyfriend than Stefan. I mean seriously the way he is written pure perfection. And this scene props all of his Golden boy qualities and the chemistry with Candice really works so well. Even him just thinking about creating a magical scene in her head where he gives her fries and just give her that inch of normalcy before her whole world would change was pure perfection.

Alaric and Jo's wedding, Alaric vow's right before she gets stabbed, Episode 6x21 "I Wed You In The Golden Summertime"

This was one of those moments were I really was completely smitten and seconds later terrified by the cruelty of the writers. The wedding was a vision, Jo and Alaric looked tremendous, the barn was beyond beautiful and Alaric's vows brought me to tears. One to remember.

Elena's last moments before Klaus takes her, Episode 2x20 "The Last Day"

The foundation of the Stefan-Elena relationship was this abnormal amount of respect, trust and love for each other. And this was a really special moment in their relationship, confronting the immortality hanging above their heads and letting each other see their vulnerability just showed how far they come over the two seasons they've spent together. Not to mention the perfect sunset in the background empowering this scene to its fullest.

Delena Rain Kiss, Promise this is forever, Episode 6x07 "Do you remember the first time?"

There are so many great romantic Delena moments, including their first kiss real in season 3, Miss Mystic Fall dance, their final goodbye dance but the rain dance tops them all in my opinion of course. They were simply happy and Delena missed that during their 3 season run. There were to many obstacles and uneccessary drama, when we just wanted to let them have it and move on. The scenes hit all the right notes I'lls stop taling and let you all enjoy it.
P.S. If you like the "real" rain kiss scene better, click here to see Kaimon go at it.

And that is it, at least from me. I covered pretty much all my favorite TVD scenes over the last three weeks and now I'm eager to hear what you have to say. So sound off in the comments and let us celebrate the beginning of the end.</i>
