We start the episode with Sean Paul and Sia playing in a strip club. I love that song!

A group of guys are out drinking and partying. The club owner warns them no drugs (a.k.a. cocaine) allowed. The guys protest but keep it together.

After one of the guys gets up to go the bathroom when he’s confronted by another man in the strip club. The conversation gets heated. Uh oh… I smell trouble and probably a murder!

The guy who has just be yelled at goes back to his buddies and says that he needs to get home to his wife. He leaves her a sweet voicemail and tells her that he loves her.

Before we can find out what happens to him, we cut to Rosie and Villa who are sitting around Villa’s kitchen table studying Eddie’s files as the sun is rising. Villa looks different to me (in a good way). Maybe she’s wearing less makeup or maybe different makeup? Either way, she looks awesome!

Rosie has discovered that Eddie, Villa’s murdered husband was badly beaten a few months before his alleged murder. Eddie told Villa that he had been in a car accident. Rosie shows her bite marks in Eddie’s records. He tells her, “Cars don’t bite.”

Captain Slade a.k.a. Captain 2.0 calls Villa and asks her to handle an investigation on the other side of town. He tells her that he trusts her. I don’t trust him. He’s about to get demoted to Captain Negative 2.0. What do you think? Something is fishy, no?

Rosie and Villa drive to a crime scene. I think it’s the guy from the strip club. Villa is upset that Eddie lied to her and she’s struggling with the fact that he kept secrets from her. I wonder what the secrets he was keeping from Villa?

When Villa and Rosie get to the crime scene, Villa is surprised to see Captain Ira Hornstock a.k.a. Dectective Hornstock a.k.a. Capt. The OG is pretty sure Captain Negative 2.0 sent Villa to babysit him at the crime scene. This new Captain Slade is being a jerk!

Villa sees that the victim, who is indeed the guy from the strip club, is wearing a wedding ring. She is visibly shaken.

Rosie finds signs of injections, but Capt knows that the crime scene is too clean for the possible overdose. With a few more clues, they come to the conclusion that Danny, the victim, was murdered.

We are back at the station and things are awkward between Capt and Captain Negative 2.0, like super awkward. I think Slade is up to something and Hornstock knows!

As Slade instructs Villa to go talk to the victim’s wife, he tells Capt to process paperwork and prints. Uh oh! That’s a low blow! Villa says she needs him out in the field but Captain Negative 2.0 doesn’t care.

Back at Rosie’s lab, TMI is filling in for Pippy and doing her own job. When is Pippy coming back?

Ooh! Donna is meeting with Gerald in the jail/prison. He won’t let Rebecca, his lawyer, release the autopsy pictures and records to Donna. He said they are too graphic. He questions her why she is there and why she is so intent on helping him. Good question!

Villa and Rosie are visiting the wife. Villa is identifying with her big time.

Oh my, Rosie and Villa leave and head to the strip club where the victim was last seen. Of course Rosie knows the strippers and the bartender/owner.

The bartender/owner saw the group doing coke and shared that the victim got up to leave, but before he could, he was confronted. It’s on tape.

OMG! Mitchie is a member of the Beyhive! When TMI is trying to get a machine to work and is clearly frustrated, she says that everything is alright, to which Mitchie replies, “I’m sure that’s what Beyoncé said to Jay Z right before she dropped Lemonade. I’m a member of the Beyhive.” I’m weak!

Whoa! Villa just found out that the victim was actually someone else. His finger prints match Connor Throne, someone who allegedly died three years ago. So he either faked his death or something even crazier is going on.

Surprise, surprise, Danny, the victim, formerly known as Connor, was a hedge fund manager and a big a-hole. He partied hard and stole millions from people in a Ponzi scheme.

The team is pondering why Danny was murdered. Did one of his victims come and kill him? Did someone kill him for hidden money that was never found?

Oh great, Captain Negative 2.0 asks Capt to look through about a bazillion boxes of paperwork the feds have on Conner.

EEK! Capt just asked Slade how someone with a trust find and parents who are still alive ended up in a group home. Now that does NOT add up! Slick Slade ignores the question and wishes Capt a happy reading session.

TMI calls Pippy about the case. She isn’t sure why her tox results aren’t adding up.

Donna catches TMI on the phone. Rosie’s mom and TMI are so cute.

YES! Mitchie is dancing to Meghan Trainor’s, “If I was you, I’d want to be me too!”

Pippy calls TMI back! WOW! Pippy is all business. She manages to conclude that the victim did not OD. He was dead before he was injected. Pippy is good, but incredibly mean.

Villa and Rosie are back at the victim’s house. They are talking to his wife, who doesn’t think it’s possible that her husband is hiding something. The wife identifies the guy her husband was fighting with at the club as her neighbor.

Rosie and Villa go to talk to the neighbor. Villa kicks down the door after “hearing” gunfire, which turns out to be a movie on TV. Interesting, Villa knows the movie the neighbor is watching on TV. Probable cause… Right…

Villa is interrogating the neighbor, who turns out to be in love with the victim’s wife. He’s an amateur P.I. and has been following Danny. He says that he has proof that Danny was sleeping with a hot doctor. Interesting twist!

Mitchie is freaking out because Donna Rosewood asked him to help with the Gerald situation.

Rosie and Villa go to investigate one of Danny’s regular hang out spots, which is an anonymous meeting for drug addicts. The people in Danny’s group all say super nice things about him and point out how generous he was with his money. Interesting, I bet it’s the money he stole. What do you think?

Villa heads home and looks through Eddie’s files. Poor Villa. She opens a suitcase and smells one of Eddie’s shirts. OH CRAP! She finds a stash hidden in the suitcase of money and a camera.

She heads over to Rosie’s house and hits the bottle. She is pissed and pulls down the info from Eddie’s case off of Rosie’s perp board. She is super upset and before we cut to a commercial, Rosie wraps her up in a big hug. Stupid commercial!

The next day, Donna Rosewood knocks on Rosie’s door. Villa answers it and looks like a hot mess. Donna gets Villa a bottle of water and some aspirin. Rosie’s mother comforts Villa. She tells her what she and Eddie had was special and that he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

Villa has a moment of clarity and realizes that Danny was most likely using stolen money to help support his new friends with college scholarships, etc.

Rosie calls Pippy, who looks like she is in the studio. I like her phone case. It’s sparkly! Rosie knows something is up with their mom and her new friend Gerald. Pippy keeps the conversation short. Why won’t she talk to Rosie? Not cool…

Interesting, Danny was paying the neighbor. Blackmail perhaps?

Villa makes Capt go on a walk with her and explain what the heck is going on. Turns out Capt made a serious mistake when he was a rookie officer. He went out on a call, responding to a child who had been beaten. He mixed up the addresses, went to the wrong house, and beat the crap out of the wrong guy. He said that he mixes up numbers sometimes and that his Captain helped cover the incident up. He mixes up numbers? I wonder if he has some intense medical issue like a brain tumor that Rosie is going to identify just based on the Capt telling Villa about the incident?

Capt admits that he has dyslexia. He thinks that Slade, Captain Negative 2.0 knows and is purposefully saddling him with paperwork, which is hellish for Capt to go through. Capt thinks Slade is pissed he can’t fire him and that he knows about the dyslexia, which is why he’s slamming paperwork on him like there’s no tomorrow, he wants Capt to quit. Capt says he might just do it.

Villa tells Capt that she needs him! Aw! She doesn’t want him to give up and I don’t either!

Rosie has found a clue! Oh wow! Pippy is back! She slams us with info and solves the case in like twenty seconds. TMI glows when she hears that Pippy listened to her message more than once. COME BACK, PIPPY! She and TMI were so adorable together. I hate that they are apart right now! *insert sad face*

We’re back at the station, where Slade a.k.a. Captain Negative 2.0 is interrogating the victim’s neighbor, Troy. He admits to knowing that Danny was Conner, but he says that he did not kill him.

Rosie walks through the door and as he and Villa’s eyes meet, they both have suddenly figured out who killed Danny.

We cut back to the interrogation room. Villa is interviewing the victim’s wife, who has scratches on her arms… Uh oh! Villa thinks that the wife killed her husband because the neighbor told her about Danny’s real identity.

Capt breaks into the interrogation room and confronts the wife. The wife’s father committed suicide after Danny’s Ponzi scheme went wrong. So, Penny, the wife, moved to Miami, found Danny and tricked him into falling in love. She waited until she found the missing millions before killing him.

Rosie and Slade watch as Capt nails the real reason the wife killed Danny! Rosie thinks Slade is proud of his team. I think Slade is a creepster.

Mitchie and TMI confront Donna Rosewood. They think Rosie and Pippy deserve to know about Gerald. Mitchie brings his point home with a quote from Lilo and Stitch, which Mrs. Rosewood calls him out on. I am weak again! Mitchie’s character is quickly becoming a favorite! Hey, what happened to the receptionist from last week? I thought she and Mitchie were going to fall in love?

Anyways, Rosie walks in as TMI and Mitchie are talking to Donna. Uh oh, Rosie sits down. Think she will tell Rosie everything about Gerald?

Interesting, Villa has gone to visit Slade on his boat. Does he live there? Didn’t another character on this kind of show live on a boat? Ooooh, Villa calls Slade out on making Capt review paperwork when he has dyslexia. Slade says that he had no idea Hornstock has dyslexia. In fact, he says that the reason he doesn’t like Capt is because he went “running to I.A.” eighteen years after an incident.

Villa calls Rosie and says she believes in Eddie and she wants to figure out what happened. She and Rosie are going to work together on the case.

OH MY… Rosie goes to visit Gerald! He calls him a serial killer! DANNNNNNNNNNG! Is Mrs. Rosewood about to help a serial killer go free? I certainly hope not! Oooh! I can’t wait to see the next episode!

*******

I’m glad we found out that Slade wasn’t treating Capt differently due to his disability. As a former teacher of exceptional children, it really gets my blood boiling when people are treated differently due to their abilities. I’m not sure how I feel about the fact that Slade is pissed that Capt turned himself in 18 years later… What do you think?

Also, what do you think about Slade’s background? What do you think he’s hiding?
