  • Early HH Ratings from Marc Berman (programminginsider)
The analysis below is based on the early household numbers and are NOT the same as the numbers that will be posted in the above table later. (See the About section below)

NOTE: The opinions expressed here are NOT those of SpoilerTV but of the Author of this Article, Marc Berman.

    -Winners:
“NCIS” (CBS), “The Voice” (NBC), “Bull” (CBS), “This Is Us” (NBC)

    -Honorable Mention:
“NCIS: New Orleans” (CBS), “Chicago Fire” (NBC)

    -Losers (excluding repeats):
“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (Fox), “New Girl” (Fox), “Scream Queens” (Fox), “Fresh Off the Boat” (ABC), “The Real O’Neals” (ABC), “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” (ABC)

    -Ratings Breakdown:
CBS topped the Tuesday overnights, besting No. 2 NBC in households by 28 percent. But NBC’s combination of “The Voice” (#2: 6.7 rating/11 share), “This Is Us” (#2: 6.4/10) and “Chicago Fire” (#2: 4.9/ 9) should be enough to warrant a clean sweep in adults 18-49. For my thoughts on “This Is Us” at Campaign US, click here: http://www.campaignlive.com/article/love-hate-it-this-us-exactly-tv-needs-right/1412647

Tops in the household overnights for the evening, of course, was “NCIS” on CBS at a 9.1/15 from 8-9 p.m. That led into recent hit entry “Bull” at a compatible 7.7/12 at 9 p.m., followed by relocated “NCIS: New Orleans” at a 6.2/10 at 10 p.m. CBS finished first in the household overnights in each of the six half-hours.

Also on a positive note last night was “The Flash” on The CW at a 2.2/ 4 in the 8 p.m. hour (#4), which outdelivered competing Fox sitcoms “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (#5: 1.5/ 3) and “New Girl” (#5: 1.3/ 2) by an average of 57 percent. But episode three of CW drama “No Tomorrow” dipped to a mere 0.6/ 1 at 9 p.m., which was 40 percent below already diluted year-ago occupant ‘iZombie” (1.0/ 2 on 10/21/15).

Fox’s “New Girl” led into a distant fourth-place 1.0/ 2 in the household overnights for sophomore “Scream Queens,” which proves that the strength of social media is not necessarily strong enough to keep a show on the air.

In week two news, ABC sitcom “American Housewife” dipped to a 3.8/ 6 at 8:30 p.m. (#3), which was a typical 16 percent below the 4.5/ 7 for its debut one week earlier. Comparably, household overnight retention for “American Housewife” out of lead-in “The Middle” (#3: 4.1/ 7 at 8 p.m.) was solid at 93 percent. And that 4.5 household overnight rating last week translated into a 6.61 million viewers and a 1.9 rating/7 share in adults 18-49, based on the Live Plus Same Day data. In other words, so far so good for “American Housewife.”

It was downhill for ABC following “American Housewife,” however, care of the relocated 9-11 p.m. combination of “Fresh Off the Boat” (#3: 2.6/ 4), “The Real O’Neals” (#3: 2.0/ 3) and “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” (#3: 1.8/ 3).

What follows are the household overnight results by half-hour:

    8:00 p.m.
    ABC – “The Middle: 4.1/ 7 (#3)
    CBS – “NCIS”: 9.0/15 (#1)
