NBC has put in development In Defense of Tom Parish, a drama from Midnight Run and Bad Boys writer George Gallo, Universal TV and Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner’s studio-based Hazy Mills.
Written by Gallo and Josh Posner, In Defense of Tom Parish centers on Tom Parish, a successful Manhattan defense attorney who was once a high-end art thief. After a stretch in a federal prison where he learned the law, he reinvented himself and quickly rose to the top of his new profession. Tom’s success lies in his unique ability to see the law in the same way he views art, laying out the details of a case like the brushstrokes of a painting, placing them all together until he’s crafted his masterpiece. The one place where Tom isn’t completely on top of his game is in his relationship with his family, who were blindsided by his criminal life. He is now trying to get them to trust him again while also managing his cases and co-workers at the law firm, side stepping an overzealous FBI agent who doesn’t believe Tom’s truly changed and… steal the occasional priceless work of art.
