Syfy's time travel drama 12 Monkeys is adding a dash of Back to the Future:The third-year drama has enlisted Christopher Lloyd for a guest role.
Lloyd will play Zalmon Shaw, a charming but deadly cult leader who preys upon other’s tragedies and losses in order to recruit new members into the apocalyptic cult the “Army of the 12 Monkeys.” Shaw is the father of the series' most imposing villain, the enigmatic Pallid Man.
Lloyd is perhaps best known for his role as Doc Brown in the Back to the Future feature film franchise. He's also a three-time Emmy winner who counts TV's Taxi among his impressive roster of credits. He's repped by Gersh and Andrew Freedman.
Season three of the drama will also see showrunner Terry Matalas make his directorial debut. Production on the series from Universal Cable Productions began production this week in Toronto.
