The season two finale of Killjoys, “How to Kill Friends and Influence People,” was written by the team of Michelle Lovretta and Jeremy Boxen and was directed by Peter Stebbings. It’s not my favorite episode of the season and the first half is more fast-paced than the second half, but it does a great job of setting us up for a great season three – without ending exactly on a cliffhanger either.
Dutch is there for John, and he returns the favor. Dutch goes undercover. Khlyen doesn’t miscalculate and does a field test. Delle Seyah Kendry (Mayko Nguyen) is desperate to preserve her beauty.
Dutch takes charge. D’Avin (Luke Macfarlane) makes small talk. Dutch has a nightmare – that may turn out to be more than just a dream. Lucy (Tamsen McDonough) looks after John. There are two really good fight scenes – one that involves a human shield. There’s also a great space chase/fight scene. And that is all I’m saying! It’s a lot though, right?
As always, here are a few of the juicy bits of dialogue – no particular order, but if you know the characters, I’m guessing you’ll be able to figure out at least a few of these!
Technology is a disloyal bitch. Kind of like you.
Looks like Anhila bought the gold package.
You don’t have to forgive someone to miss them.
You smell like chicken.
Human shield, bitches!
Why does it always start like that.
Fine. You win. Now we fight.
This is a classic Killjoys’ mission.
All gifts come with a price.
One glorious suicide mission.
He was on a quest to feed his people.
I didn’t hate what you did there.
There’s a lot of charm in that snake.
You never prepared me to be free.
Don’t worry. I’ll tell everyone you died sexy.
I’m a ship, John. I don’t have feet.
Oh good. Naptime’s over.
This is crazy. This is bullshit. This is crazy bullshit!
Their technology is exotic.
We used to be a lot better at this.
I don’t need your pity, ?????.
There’s still no word on whether we’ll get a season three. There is a big panel this weekend – today actually! – at Fan Expo in Toronto where the show is shot. This is a positive sign that the studio is sending a large group to the Convention to screen the finale. However, ratings have been way down this season, so if you want a season three of Killjoys be sure to tune in on Friday to Syfy at 9/8c – tweet about it too!
