The Mentalist creator Bruno Heller is back at CBS as an executive producer on another procedural drama, Firewall. The project, written/executive produced by The Mysteries of Laura creator Jeff Rake, has received a put pilot commitment from the network. Warner Bros. TV, where both Rake and Heller have been under overall deals, is the studio.
In Firewall, in the wake of personal tragedy, a charming but ruthless San Francisco billionaire decides to use his wealth for good, putting together a team of various experts to exact justice on criminals who’ve slipped through the cracks of the legal system.
Firewall pairs two experienced creators/showrunners who both had a show end last season, The Mysteries of Laura on NBC (Rake) and veteran The Mentalist on CBS (Heller). Rake also co-created with Darren Star The $treet and Miss Match, while Rome co-creator Heller is the creator/executive producer of Fox’s Batman prequel drama Gotham. Both are repped by WME.
